If they do upgrade the old beast models, I want Blizzard to keep them looking similar to the old ones in overall shape. Just out-and-out replacing the models with the Mists ones would be a bad idea, a bit of variety is always good :)

Add some more polygons, shorten the claws, and adjust the manes/hair, and maybe update the textures to be smoother and cleaner, but leave the overall shape the same.

Thank you very much for sharing these! After I saw the tiger model for the first time I was *dying* for there to be recolours of it... And then I saw Veph post a screenshot yesterday of a black version so I got even more excited... And now they come in all sorts of colours! I'm so happy! ♥ Being a huge cat person in and out of the game, I was ready to explode when I saw a brand new cat model at last! I have no idea which one of these I will tame... I feel like I need them all! Although I feel the white 'frost' one with the glowing eyes might be a unique rare. The rare-hunter in me hopes so.

So many fantastic new models for this expansion. I'm also someone who wouldn't mind at all if everything in the old game was over-hauled with new models.

THIS. We have so many sabre-toothed cats, but we don't have THE sabre-toothed cat. Forget the lions and tigers and leopards with big teeth glued into their mouths, give us Smilodon fatalis.

Hrm... I gotta disagree to be honest. For me it's the rarer a pet is, the better it feels when I eventually get it. Blizzard know that most hunters like rare pets so they've got to add some to MoP...

I would love to have one of these. My stable is definitely going to go through a pretty big overhaul come MoP. I'm most looking forward to taming an orange tiger. I'm going to name her Nangara. I have it all figured out. And a pink crane. If I named him DragQueen would that be against the rules, I wonder? I hope not because I think it would be awesome lol!

I'd prefer a non-rare myself. :(

I would prefer something in between like when we first got core hounds and people would go after Kurken. When I went there myself for the first time I had two other hunters waiting for it to spawn and it was pretty exciting to see what each would do. Rush for it or let the one who "was there first" go for it and take their turn or whatever! Since I arrived last I thought I just sit by and watch either one tame and /congratulate them once they do. Let's just say the result was surprising and messy.

So maybe a unique mob that spawns relatively quickly but there is only one of. That way the competitive people could get their pvp on and whatever while others, like me, could wait until a quieter time on server to snatch theirs. I don't have anything against there being a few rare spawns here and there but seeing as this is a white tiger "update" I'd like them to be somewhat readily available. The super shiny things can be the rare spawns then, eh?

I wouldn't mind a rare, if they did it like how they did the challenges, one, maybe two close-to-eachother spawnpoints, with a relatively mild, yet still camp-worthy spawn timer. I don't think I'll ever put myself through a Loque-like camp after getting Krush, Gondria, and my Spirit Wolf, as well as missing Loque over 20 times. It's just not worth the frustration, exhaustion and panic.

Someday, I'd like to see a rare that is the most "ugly" or "normal" colour. Sambas is natural, but it's moot since there's only one. Like for example if brown Madexx was the only rare or if the brown/orange of these new tigers were the rares. I'd like to see rareshinyness vs. monochrome/unnatural colours that seem to be popular. Would people tame the brown rare or the common white next to it?

It depends on whether or not the rares are the only available tame for those colors. As for me... I tamed Humar even when Pitch is a quest mob that is almost always up, so you never know.

I think we'd have a Time Lost situation there. If Time Lost's colour was a pretty basic mount to get, people probably wouldn't like it too much since he's a 'puke' colour and not considered to be too attractive really. (But I think you can tell from my avatar I really like him haha.) But since he's ridiculously rare, people love him for who he is, really.

The reason I suggested that the frost tiger be the rare one though is because his eyes seem to glow more than the others, suggesting something special about it.

I didn't notice before, but you're right. He's missing his pupil that the other tigers have, as well as being a much brighter and fuller color than the others.

Also, I can't wait for the turtles, if they're tamable (don't see why they wouldn't be, but I've said that before and the beast wasn't, so who knows.) Those turtles are absolutely gorgeous.

Now I've noticed there's two white cats as well, which gives me even more reason to think that the first one might indeed be a rare. The colour is brighter and the eyes glow without a pupil. It almost seems to me like the first one is a rare version of the second, which could be there for those who don't want to go after the rare one? I dunno, but I see no reason why they would make two white ones otherwise.
