Still I'd be pissed off if something killed my chickens. Nature or not XD

Yeah, I'd be upset too, of course. That's like when I had rats, they used to be escape artists. I kept them in a separate room away from our cat, but it still always scared me that she might get one of them. As sad as I'd be, I couldn't be mad at my cat for doing what cats do. That's all I'm trying to say, I guess. But of course when you love a creature, you hate to think of it being snatched up by a predator.

Oh I understand :3 One of our cats has been killing a bird every day this week it seems :S

xD Joan Jett (we combined her name with her late sister's name) has the best featherdo, second only to Robin's. I love that feature of Cream Legbars!

Today we got to put up a huge net over the entire chicken yard. It's quite strong and the holes are pretty darn small, so if we secure it down, I think our hawk problems may be over. So happy, the poor chickens have been stuck in a little run.

We also got some (don't laugh) chicken saddles. They're basically strong fabric pieces that you hook under the wings, so they cover the chicken's back from the bottom of the neck to the base of the tail. It looks a lot less silly than you'd think, I swear, and it will keep the roosters (especially Chuckles ((Caeser's nickname)) that evil roo) from ripping up the back feathers of the hens when they mate.

Hopefully I'll get some new pictures soon.

Now with some pictures. I spent some time feeding the chickens out of my hand, I want to try and hand-tame them a bit more.

Batman wanted to sit on the back of my chair, so I just put some food on my shoulder for her. She was quite happy.

Your weekend fashion sense is about the same as mine. *looks down at fleece pants and glittery pig shirt* Yep, I'm not the most fashionable woman around on the weekends.

Seriously though, your chickens are so cute and pretty! You can definitely tell they're well cared for. <3

Also, I've already said it but I'll say it again, your hair is so pretty! /jealous

One more update, the net is up and secured, so we can finally let the chickens out. They were *thrilled*. They always like going outside, but they ran around the yard like it was a whole new world, practically bouncing. To give that more impact... It was hailing and raining heavily at the time. xD They got soaked, but they didn't care. So glad they can finally go outside and be safe. >.<

Aww, happy chickens! It's good to hear they are safe and sound now. :3

Chickens aren't evil birds, but I can see why people would think of them as mean...

In the first photo the one beside it with the black face and white body I saw a whole family of them at the zoo today. I can see why you guys have them they are so pretty <3

They don't look the least bit bothered by the snow. Granted, if I was that floofy, I probably wouldn't mind it either. Alas, I am hairless and wimpy.
