Won't make my own topic, I'll just toss it up here.

Just bought Pandaria and resubbed earlier today. I'm a hair shy of 86 still and was near where Savage paths, so I went looking for him. Found foot prints and hoped they didn't patch the backwards thing and followed them. I will say it's pretty nerve wrecking when you run out of tracks. Did he turn around? Is he here? Did I miss a print somewhere? Frantically looking around til one appears. Took a couple flares as he was just on the edge of them every time and I couldn't get him marked. I thought I lost him at one point but managed to pick up the tracks and finally grab him. Yay! <3

Nothing fancy, just a quick shot where I tamed him. I have no idea what to call him yet.

So uhm.

I didn't think I'd be posting here again until Kallimon hit 90.

I was wrong.

I was doing some archaeology (which is now maxed, yay!) in Townlong Steppes when I accidentally landed too close to a tree. A little pink caterpillar did a mid-air roll and attacked! Naturally, I was charmed, and to make a long story short, Scylla moved into a new body. She is extremely happy. :D And after seeing her happy, I'm happy. :)

I must admit, the silkworm Dire Beasts I've gotten have made me giggle the way they waddle around. I just might have to find a spot on another Hunter for one. Maybe a Panda Hunter. They're just.. too adorably cute. ><

I ended up becoming charmed by two of the new rares on Dejanira, both tamed with the help of Cae. ^_^

First up is Muu, who sort of breaks my naming theme and sort of doesn't, if that makes sense. His name is a play off of 'mu' which means 'void/nothingness' in Japanese, and he's named after one of my absolute favorite dragons from Monster Rancher, and from my childhood. There was a Monster Rancher anime that aired during the late 90's, where Muu was the main big bad, and he was based off of Godzilla in size and mannerisms. Looking at Bloodtooth constantly made me think of Muu, and I'm really happy to have a pet named after him on the game.

Image

Second is Ebirah, named after the giant lobster kaiju. glimmer is my favorite of the water striders, and I was having a debate about taming him on Dejanira, or waiting till I'd leveled my bug collector up. With Cae's help, I decided to get him for Deja, and I'm really happy with that choice.

Image

Edit: Kuihu finally got to change to her proper Maltese tiger self, and after being unsure about it at first, she's settled into her new look quite well. This color is my favorite of the new tigers by far.

Image

Now to level to 90 and finally get her bronze quilen.

Latets addition is the raven - which to my pleasent surprice is a carrion bird and not a bird of pray.

Named her Annika - bonus if you get the name reference for naming a raven Annika

I haven't tamed much yet, as I have been too busy playing with my battle pets to level. ;) But yesterday I dinged 87, and decided it was time to get a turtle. I love tortoises and turtles - I own a russian tortoise named Sputnik, but I never really liked any of the turtles in game. When I saw the new dragon turtles, I fell in love, and was determined that Kalhoun would tame one and like it, gosh darn it. I tried on several of the non-epic models, and I did like a few. But I'm picky and it's a hard decision; I like them all, but I can't have them all.

So after having given up and working on leveling a battle pet until late, on a whim I went looking for Bloodtooth. I hadn't had any experience with the new tracking gimmick, and I was curious about it. Within a few moments of arriving to the eastern most part of his path, I found his footprints. I lost them a few times, but about midway through his path, I randomly flared and there he was.

(I tried to get a nice sun-lit screenshot, but apparently it's monsoon season everywhere I go in Pandaria today.)

Image

He doesn't really match the colors Kalhoun usually tames (green and brown), but I do like him. Maybe I'll make an exception for him. He matches Squiggy, my Oily Slimeling buddy, very nicely though! ;)

Still needs a name.

Kal, I rather like Bloodtooth with Kalhoun. They sort of work together somehow.

Two new ones for me! Both skin changes.

Image

Gruff changed colors again. I was going to just keep him brown, to be honest- I didn't really feel like tracking down a mountain-dwelling goat, and who knew if I'd actually like the sort of blue color? But Stompy had his way. I was doing a quest that I like to imagine myself doing in-character - Pandaria has really solidified Daphine's personality - and I looked down to see some tracks. Which were actively spawning in front of me. Stompy was but a few steps ahead of me, and I didn't even know his path. Well, that was decided, then - Gruff had a quick skin change and now he's blue.

Image

Kronos also got a skin change, though I'm thinking about name-changing him too. I didn't know about this skin until I came upon it while questing, and I immediately knew I had to have it. So long pretty rare skin. <3

Wait, wait, wait....Lupis, what skin IS that water strider? O.o

I can't seem to match him to any on Petopia...can anyone shed light on the dilemma? Is it the orange one? But why is it so light?

*confused*

Yup, it's the orange one, I found him in the rivers of Zouchin Village. He looks way different in-game than he does on Petopia!

some of my new tames from MoP

Gahiji - Glimmer, a twitchy little fellow who quickly charmed their way into Nef's stables.
Kamilah - Patrannache, an Eh I'm bored lets go hunt for something tame but weasled his way into Nef's heart.
Geb - Bloodtooth, was a must have from the moment I saw him.
Azibo - Stompy, spur of the moment tame who earned a spot in her stables in seconds.
Chigaru - Terracotta Guardian(purple), the one quilen I wanted from the moment they were introduced.
Zuberi - Red Portent, another must have tame
Unnamed - Blue Portent, spur of the moment catch when I found him up

I would never have chosen Savage based solely on appearance. I would have chosen the green tiger, or the brown, or the black, or even the red! I had no interest in his unnaturally brilliant pelt. As it turned out, I didn't need to. It was the rare himself that captured me. I tracked him on beta, intent on catching a glimpse of each of the new rares, and the moment my flare illuminated his powerful white shape stalking through a sea of green shadows, bloodied enough to stain his tracks as he prowled, I was completely done for. Before I did anything else, when MoP went live, I rushed to tame the very first Savage that ever spawned on Nesingwary, and I haven't regretted it.

Image

Majime's tame wasn't half as simple. He began as an ordinary stone quilen in the Ruins of Guo-Lai who solemnly guarded the rock he was parked on (sadly forgot to take a screenie before I did the quests that phased him out; best I've got is here). I intended to have that quilen as his essence, because I found him ridiculously charming, and Portent as his skin, explaining it away by having it be what he truly looked like after a dusting or polishing or even a painting. I was willing to try multiple skins, green being my favorite color and adorned cobalt being the quilen skin I chose first out of the model viewer, but red was my preference. Unfortunately, when I brought Majime to Portent's spawn, red Portent wasn't up. However, cobalt Portent was. Majime seemed amenable enough to the idea of turning blue, so I moved him into the blue skin and went off to do dailies, content with the current skin but still hoping that red would be up afterward so I could try it.

Well... it was. And, happily, I moved Majime into the red skin, thinking he would be content and that I would be done. But no. The moment I changed my quilen from blue to red, he went from acting like the knightly, dignified quilen he was to acting as if I'd betrayed him horribly. I tried giving him time, spoiling him, so on and so forth. Nothing worked. He was furious. Finally, at a loss, I waited for cobalt Portent to show again (thanks for catching him, Hel ♥) and allowed Majime to have his blue skin back, praying it would fix things... and, immediately, he emoted nuzzling my shoulder. He's been peaceful ever since.

Have you ever had a pet choose its skin before, regardless of your own will? Well, now I have. That's that, I suppose. :| At least it's beautiful!

Image

More to come later. I need a certain mount before I can show Kyria's crane, and I have no idea what's going on with her water strider or goat.
