Look at all the frostheim in the armory ...you think they all existed before the hunter union blog?
For that matter look at all the Banards on the armory...who am I? A faceless Hunter in the mass of hunters . Now look at all the people using my name and even some fellow Dwarven Hunters using my old face/beard color. Its hilarious. ( once upon a time i was the only one... i was level 30ish when i realized i spelled Bernard wrong).
This could be some kid who came across your story and fell in love with it and wanted to be just like you....their hero. Or it could be some random person looking for attention (and look ya gave it to them).
In the end all i can say is at least its not another elf named Drizzit.
Flattery only goes so far. It's not just a name that was taken or even a story. It was the pets, the appearance, the mog, everything. That goes into creepytown and identity theft.

If you think it's alright to stalk someone and entirely creep them out because you idolize them, you're highly mistaken. The point is even if they idolize her they STALKED her. Some things in the fake Veph's RP page seem eerie to Veph's real life likes. Then they post this huge elaborate lie about how its all some big ole coincidence. If you REALLY were someone who idolized her then you'd admit your mistake, instead of claiming all of this was ALLLLL YOU and then practically implying that Veph is the one who copied her? That's not right any way you look at it. It could be flattering to some but to others its really really unsettling. Point is, just because YOU'D take it that way doesn't mean Veph should. In all honesty, I'd be furious if I were her. It isn't right no matter what way you look at it.

I not trying to be the bad guy here just trying to put some perspective on things.
That goes into creepytown and identity theft.
Identity theft? That is a bit extreme...a huge extreme. There is no identity here to steal. It is all fictional.

Key word is some. Just throwing this out there but its not out of the realm of possibilities
this portion of the whole story is coincidence. It comes to the point where you start seeing things. I am not saying he/she didn't copy everything but this might be stretching.
Now the big elaborate email...first off you cannot even be sure its the same person. It could be some random arse having a joke at your expense.
All i am trying to say here is in the end there is nothing you can do about it unless there is threat in RL. Really, just ignore it. It EU your US. There is plenty to tell the difference between your two toons.

I am sure it was the same person who PMed me as they were contacted in-game by an acquaintance first, and named that acquaintance in the message, which is how they found me.
I am definitely not trying to blow this out of proportion, as you can see in the last few pages I'm really just letting it all go now that I've had a chance to converse with the imposter. That being said, I don't think it's unreasonable at all for me to feel unnerved and upset that my character was stolen. It's very personal to me and I wanted to at least get the chance to tell the person to stop if they were respectful enough to listen to my request. Turns out they weren't, but it was important to me to try.
All I wanted was to be able to talk face to face (so to speak), and I have, though I hoped I would get a bit more honesty. In either case, as I mentioned before, what's done is done and I'm not trying to pursue them or make a big deal out of it really. I was in my right to be frustrated by this as it dragged out, and the only reason this thread is so long is because people were kind enough to be supportive even if it didn't involve them. I don't feel as if I overreacted at any point, in fact in the beginning I was merely puzzled. The only thing that angered me wasn't even the character theft itself but rather the attitude of the thief.
I understand that this wouldn't bother some people, but I'd appreciate if my personal feelings on the matter were not trivialized.

I know this may be out of line but maybe at this point this thread should be locked??
Veph has clearly stated she wants to let this go and move on so why not close this to avoid further drudging it up.

That's probably a good idea, I wanted to answer questions people had but I think this has run its course now. I'm really glad there was a community here when I needed it, so thanks everyone.

I'll ask Wain to lock it whenever he has a chance.
