I'll have a chat to the GM tonight and see what he thinks about all this. (Currently 6am where I am, and 4am where he is)
I'll give you a little bit of history in to our guild that might explain it's current state.
Destruction was created by a group of friends and, despite being new, managed to progress quickly and establish a rank as a top raiding guild on aman'thul during dragon soul. (I joined towards the end of DS)
During MoP we had a lot of turn overs of raid members and hit many lows in terms of progression, but despite all that, we still managed to pull through and claim realm first multiple times.

Not long after this*, we were propositioned by Dara Mactire to join them and raid under their name during SoO, but despite being competitive and being ahead for most of the tier, many felt the pressure and/or had real life issues and so we split up.
It was pretty heartbreaking and none of us wanted the team to split as we were all pretty close friends.
(*While all this was going on, the position of GM was handed to a long standing officer who ran a more casual 10man team in the guild. Unfortunately they stopped right after we left and shortly after that a lot of the members left)
So as you can see, there's a lot of sentiment behind this guild for a lot of us, even though we may not appear active at all.
As I said, I'll talk to the GM when I can, but I think the most I could do is get him to pass leadership on to me.
If that is the case, I'll work something out for you guys.

Aman'thul isn't a bad little server. It's fairly low pop as you would expect from an OCE server, but not small enough to warrant a merger. However you can't CRZ with US realms so it's a bit of a bummer. (Also, think of all the pets! Since you guys are active during our downtime)

I was not in a top raiding guild but I had something similar happen to my guild at the start of mop. we were a big guild doing a lot of current content raiding but the gm had some nasty stuff happen in real life just before the xpack so he had to quit and the new leader couldn't keep up with everything so all but a few of our oldest casual members left.
