That would actually be kind of awesome.
Yeah.. if one rogue spec essentially became the 'D3 Demon Hunter' archetype, that would be very interesting..

You said you don't like changes but you refuse to keep the look of your bow to transmogify the gun? I'm confused.

Overall, quite happy with the hunter spec changes. Love the differentiation.

Only concern is with the artifact weapons, and what the system will be for dual-spec..

Yeah.. you can mog the gun to a bow, so the problem is? You do give up the special looks, but not grinding for all those might be a blessing.

the problem is I really like the /artifact/ bow.. and was really excited about it, and artifacts in general and the fact you can change their appearance and such, and it would be bothersome to run around seeing MM hunters with a bow I really want and love and be unable to obtain it
I'm not refusing to transmog the gun to A bow i'm upset I won't be able to get the bow I want

its not so simple for me as 'you can just transmog it' cus haveing a bow, a pet, and being a ranged dps was what I loved, so yes I can transmog it.. but it still feels rather awful? like Hey lets make your favorite spec not ranged, oh and the other one you like can't have pets.. and the last one? no bow, sorry! its not that big a deal but its more the last thing ontop of everything else making me unhappy, and yeah I know its not personal I was just making an example

I'm pretty sure I saw an interview with Ion saying with dual spec you'll get the artifact for that spec as well but I'm sure the weapon will be locked via the proper spec.

Edit!!!
•The team doesn't want it to be too painful if you want to change specs, so there might be some kind of catch up mechanic for getting the Artifact weapon for another spec.

If they keep current transmog rules, we can mog the spear (polearm I assume) into any other 2H. This makes me happy.

I can sympathize with this. The bow is fantastic and to see it go to only one spec feels bad. It affects a few other classes/specs as well. Its still early, but I getcha.

Some of us WANT the special look on a bow, like we've used from the start, and not be forced to use a gun, that we don't want to use.

While they haven't 'said' the bow is for MM the flavor text on the pic seems to imply it. I'm hoping we'll be able to choose. After all we can tmog bows over guns and guns over bows. So we'll see. But if I'm stuck with a gun that I'm supposed to build for an entire expansion with no weapon drops for an entire expansion so I'm stuck with Tmoggingbows over it and no new weapon for an entire expansion I'm going to be a bit riled.

Kinda feel the same way about my Ret pally. I'm a hammer guy. but this isn't a pally board.

what they are saying, it feels like all my favorite stuff is getting removed, I can't use guns as they set off issues with my autism and sensory overload, plus, ascetically, I've always hated them, they don't feel..right for hunters, not hunters who have had a pet standing by their side for years, not hunters who's core revolves around working with beasts, not going after them.. sure nesingwary can use one.. but hey, he DOESN'T HAVE A PET SO HE WOULD BE A MM HUNTER NOW? maybe they should get the guns then @_@ Leave us the bows at the very least if MM is no pets, and SV is no range.. let us keep the bows and keep some of what I love this class for

There are so many amazing options for 2H melee weapons. I'm super stoked.

I'm really not bothered by being "stuck" with a bow or gun as MM/BM, as I'll likely just mog over the one I don't like anyway. But to each their own, I guess.

I kept one polearm in my void, just in case.. we ever could use them again. Very unlikely that I'll go SV, but this is the one I'd use..

The more I think about the way they are doing weapons, the more I don't like it. I do like the idea of mogging a 2H for my Survival hunter (assuming I like the playstyle), and I do like the idea of an artifact weapon, it "leveling" up and so on, but I don't like how they are forcing each spec to that one weapon class/look. This especially true of specs that have multiple choices, like Frost DK and Fury Warrior. I hate dual wield Frost, but tough luck right?

However thats not the worst thing. The worst thing is the only *new* look for weapon your spec will get is simply a variant of the artifact weapon. Sure they look amazing, but its very very limiting. Ashbringer with Ret paladins are the prime example. All the variants and colors of Ashbringer are cool, but make no mistake, they are every one Ashbringer.

Imagine if this system was in WoD. Ret pally gets the Ashbringer and its variants, but they can *never* use the other models that were in WoD, particularly the Blackhand. If you want something other than an Ashbringer variant, your only option is something that already exists from MoP back. Outside of Ashbringer variants, theres nothing new. I dont like this aspect of it, not one bit. The artifact system, while cool, does not sound good enough for such needless sweeping limitations.

Nice way of making SV and MM really unique and it'll be interesting to see how SV handles in dungeons and raids.

As for the BM Artifact Weapon, I'd rather have a crossbow! :D

But you can mog over the artifact weapon if you want to. And let's be real, how many decent ranged weapon models were there in WoD? very few. If Ashbringer is any example, we'll get a lot more models than what we typically get. Blizz won't waste time designing all those green weapons this time.

Also.. this weapon leveling thing reminds me of bits of Path of the Titans.

You can only mog it to something that already exists. Nothing new to look forward to, outside of the artifact model/color. If they keep on this track, a Retribution Paladin can not look forward to using a new design 2H Mace, 2H Axe, Polearm or non-Ashbringer 2H sword. They are completely locked out of new design choices for 3 entire weapon schools and the majority of the fourth, all for this artifact system. That, to me, is a huge downside that mog cannot even begin to fix.

As for the decent ranged weapons, I'm sure I liked some you didn't and vice versa. The problem is its limiting new options to one artifact's variants. Can't mog anything new.

It did me as well, and that worried me. Especially after coming from WoD early announcements that were so drastically cut/changed. Hope it stays!

There's so few of the new weapons that are obtainable that I like. Doesn't help it's been all Orcville. Slick is still using the Uldar guns in most of his mogs, so...

Thats true, those were amazing. I've used those plenty of times. I am still trying to make Veranus' Bane work in something.
