A fun place to chat about hunter pets in the World of Warcraft.

Shark Rays have already been confirmed as grouping with the Nether Rays and the Pet Family is now just "Rays"Valnaaros wrote:Could be. The Tidal Guardians, Snapdragons, Spider Crabs, Shark Rays, etc. would all be considered aquatic beasts, so they might be what he is referring to.
Ok im gonna clear up a few things here first off. i dont know this person if hes uses twitter than im sorry but i dont so yea.Myzou wrote:Yea, you have to remember Muffinus is also the main person who talks to the community for pet battles, not just hunters.
I think Myzou was referring to the "aquatic and mechanical pets" comment, not your post about dogsZoroarkRonan wrote:Ok im gonna clear up a few things here first off. i dont know this person if hes uses twitter than im sorry but i dont so yea.Myzou wrote:Yea, you have to remember Muffinus is also the main person who talks to the community for pet battles, not just hunters.
secondly i only want them tameable because 1 we have a dog family and 2 the only breed thats a dog are the mastiffs all the others are darkhounds.
but seriously tho the dog family needs more breeds maybe bulldogs or corgis?

While true, and please feel free to correct me because I haven't re-watched the stream, the way he described it made it sound more like he was trying to remind us of the WC3 unit which itself shot lightning. I honestly feel like it'll just get dropped in the worm family, but I'd love to be wrong!Skycaller wrote:Tidal Guardians look like worms, the only thing making me think they won't be classified in the worm family is during the stream the guy mentioned them shooting lightning, right now, worms don't do that.
At the very least, I can confirm that the burgundy skin is used on a hydra battle pet:Wain wrote:Aside from the new models, there seem to be new colours for at least two existing models: hydras and mechanowolves.
Hydras are possibly* getting three really lovely new colours, Black, Silvery-White and Burgundy:

I really love the burgundy and the silver. It's also nice they're getting a few subdued skins for hunters who like that.
* By "possibly", I mean that I've found skins that match the hydra model in the database. However, because we can no longer see the file names and paths, I can't guarantee they're for this model until we find them being used, or at least matched against the hydra model in the database. While it seems likely, there's always the odd chance they're intended for something else, like a hydra mount or a hydra-skin rug
Mechanowolves are getting two new additions: yellow and rusty (unpainted):

With the addition of yellow, we're really only missing purple to have a rainbow set
Ahhh I feel the exact same way! The classic hydras had a lot more charm to them, I think they'd look wonderful with updated textures/models. I'm surprised they haven't yet.Qraljar wrote: Frankly, while I appreciate more down to earth skins for the WoD hydras, I really wish they'd update the classic hydra model. The WoD hydras feel much more terrestrial, whereas the classic ones do really seem like aquatic creatures and fit perfectly in Nazjatar.
It is currently being used by two mobs. One is a friendly mob (except during one quest) in Mechagon and is a pet to a Mechagnome Hunter, and the other is KU-J0, a boss in Mechagon. Also hope that rusty, unpainted mechanowolf skin becomes tameable.
Wow, that was only a subtle change but it made such a big difference! They could probably go even further. I'd like them to have properly long necks, like the original hydras.Vephriel wrote: EDIT: out of curiosity I tried resizing this one a bit. I scaled the body down by only 10% while leaving the heads the same size, and look at how much of a difference it makes. At least in my eyes.

Chattertooth is the pet of the Mechagnome. I believe that the Scraphound is an mob that cannot be attacked.Qraljar wrote:https://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=150785/chattertoothValnaaros wrote:It is currently being used by two mobs. Those are the two I could find with that skin, other than the Mechagon boss.
