Has anyone tried getting the mob to evade while being tamed or something? Maybe stand on one of the airplanes, or?

Sadface.

After investigation, a few hunters have had wolves retain this buff only for it to vanish upon logout, though only one known hunter has retained it permanently. As you can see, the GM said it is not intended for hunter pets to have this buff, and encouraged me to report this as a bug on the forums. But I will not. And neither should you.

Epic kudos, Irime. Freaking epic.

Who is the second hunter? O.O

Also, why on earth is that GMs English so terrible, lol >.<

Could be an European server, you should see some of the English I've gotten from GMs...

Ha, there's no confirmed second hunter, I just tailor my English to create a sense of urgency in my ticket, so the busy GM doesn't think "pffft this huntard's seen some temporary bug and gone out wolf taming. Tard". I should have used the word "permanent" in terms of the Oil Coat affliction, because as the GM seems to understand, and this seems to be the case in all but one confirmed incidents, the buff is only temporary, and so the issue is somewhat shrugged off.

(My toon is currently on an Oceanic realm... so I dunno where this GM could be from. But to me it doesn't matter, they are always super helpful and polite. My only gripe is ticket times seem to be getting longer...)

your response from a GM was about as good as the ones that i get from my GMs, except my GM responses are more along the lines of "sorry we can't help you, fill out this survey and let us know how much the information we sent you helped!"

i doubt s/he even read what you were really asking.

Well, I just tried doing it from atop a plane, so they're evading when the tame finishes. Sadly, although the cast continues to the end, when it finishes you just get an Evade message, and the wolf is not tamed.

Still brainstorming...

Sadly spent the last 2 days trying to do this and have gone through hundreds of wolves, stacks and stacks of bandages. Hunter is black and blue all over and not a single wolf with that neat attribute.

I've tamed the neutral/yellow oil stained wolf multiple times, it didn't keep the buff.
I've tamed wolves, in/out oil stains; on the planes (evading); between the oil stained birds; from the water; from the rises; while the oil thingies were syphoning the oil off the wolves; after the oil thingies finished siphoning off the oil; I've tamed all of the wolves in several of the 'ponds'. All to no avail. :?:

Went back and got Haarka. Noticed that Silithid Ravager was back after about 10 hours or so after I saw it's corpse earlier.
Checked on Lapress and unless someone got him/her/it, nothing for 39 hours. A friend was helping me camp him/her/it.

try making your pc really really laggy by opening wow like 20 times or somthing so you pc is un playable that way it will cause you to lag and will stop messages being sent to the warcraft servers when you are in an unplayable state try taming it.

I emulated this effect by window-dragging the client. It didn't work.

I'm concerned with all the GM Tickets. Are we risking the removal of these Unique Pets that apparently only 2 hunters have?

I'd really be upset if anyone lost their oil-coated wolf over this.

Maybe I can help. Here is pic of my pet.

You need to either not have done the alliance quest http://www.wowwiki.com/Quest:Lupus_Pupus or know someone who hasn't, Im my case it was the later. Taming the pet took me about 10 try's but here is how you do it. You need to stand about 10 yards from wolf. Shoot a trap about 5 yards away. then throw the meat. The next part is all about timing and your haste. You need to start your tame pet at a certain time left on your frost trap depending on you haste. Im 174 haste so i found 8.3 seconds on my frost trap was perfect. You need to Tame the wolf at the very point that the wolf despawns... If you do it right you wont even think you tamed him it makes no normal noise or anything like a normal tame. whistle for your pet if you got timing right he will come out with oil stain intact. Hope this helps you all Srry if topic was alrdy answered
