green,red blue...what's next? rainbow?

I'm just guessing here but I suspect it depends on the fastidiousness of the developer involved. Someone has taken great care to ensure each colour has its own model just as they did with the mining pick monkeys, for example. On the other hand, the vale howler monkeys and Temple Scarabs may not have been handled with the same degree of concern over colour. Or maybe the dev did it deliberately because they like colour changers :p

sooo...depending on the spawn point, you get a diff color?

so if I wanted blue, I'd only camp his blue point? or does he just spawn as a diff color, cycling through them?

Mm, don't think so Makoes. Blue and Brown were both found at the same spot. It seems what might happen is when he spawns he'll randomly be one of those colours. It's not specific to location.

Bah. I actually like the green one. Really nice pic of him; shows off his colors well. Wheee!

It's going to be such a pain to camp for him if you have a specific colour in mind. Not only will there be the long hours of waiting due to him being a rare spawn, but then that spawn has a chance of being 1 in 3(or more) colours. It'll be frustrating for sure, but I think it's a really cool idea that hasn't been done before for a rare. I'm so glad they kept the IDs separate for each colour.

love that blue one, will want to see the red to decide which one i really want.

Yeah, a pain.

Especially when hunters are camped out looking for a specific color and another color spawns, so they tame it anyway... only to come back 6-12 hours later to camp it again.

Or they just kill it so the next one will spawn faster.

I can probably think of a few more reasons this is such a bad idea, but I'll refrain.

The only way I know Blizzard could fix this is if they made the different colors spawn in the different corners of Uldum... and one in the middle. Hell... even give them all different names.

Ugh, my stable is filling up faster than I intended! This is almost upsetting. I went to get all my old pets and now they are taking up room and...no I am not going to complain. 25 stable slots seemed so large...till now...

well it aint a color-changer. it just spawns in different colors

Each colour has its own ID, so they're not a colour changer. The colour he spawns as is the colour he stays after taming. ^^

We've never seen a rare who spawns like this before, so he needs a special term. Static color changer? Mood scorpid?

I read the book!

I am not a huge fan of the scorps. But I am one who loves to camp rares. Not sure if I will go after this guy as I am really trying to stick to my lists, so we'll see.
