I would say, if you have a bad night, then no TV the next day. Either it helps because it's removing negative stimulation, or it helps by providing incentive for you to learn to self-calm yourself.

Problem with that is.. I only end up watching these shows a few times a week. Even if I don't watch anything besides, say.. America's Funniest Home Videos, I'll get freaked out. Even if I don't watch ANYTHING for a few days, I still get freaked out. I think the shows make it a little worse, but they're not the sole cause of it at this point.

Perhaps some white noise to mask the sounds of your house could work? I find having a fan on helps me sleep (Although for a much different reason) but you could always have something quet playing on your mp3 player/soundsystem.
If it doesn't help, or if you's rather not waste power, yeah, I'd advise checking up with your local GP about it.

Hope you can sort though this soon hun.

I actually have a pillow that has a speaker in it, so I can just plug in my iPod and listen to music... Though I haven't found that it helps a lot.. But that's usually cause I end up spacing out and not even going to sleep. Eventually I'll just turn it off and then end up freaking out. Maybe I'll try just listening to music until I fall asleep tonight.. It might help.

Do not feel bad at all. I'm 20 years old and I cannot sleep without stuffed animals cuddled around me, holding my favorite stuffed Simba from when I was young and either storm sounds or celtic music playing in the background. I used to freak a lot too but I think having a 60 pound Saint puppy in my bedroom helps  - Definately talk about it, your sleep is important to you and you need lots of it! :)

Hmm, depending on your music tastes, you may want to try and find somethign else to listen to. I mean, if you're planning on playing some slow, calming classical piano, go for it. But something with a lot of energy to it will more than likely just keep you awake. :)
The trick is finding something, well, relaxing. Based on my personal tastes, I'd look for a quality MP3 of rain falling (aka, one that doesn't sound like TV static) and just loop that. Or anything really. :D
Hope I'm helping here. XD

Ah the protector plushies. How I love them. Seriously, I have these two giant plushies that I have in my bed. One is a wolf, the other is a cheetah. Both are based on two old WoW pets that I really really really loved, so I'm really attached to my wolf and cheetah. They keep me safe. Well.. They keep my safe physically. Mentally? If only they could help with that, then I'd be in business XD;;

I may end up trying that. I have some pretty peaceful music for the most part.. Slow and soft songs from Pokemon games (Buawhaha, even when it comes to this.. I'm not without mah Pokemon music <3), anime that I like.. Yadda yadda yadda, but a loop of rain? Ugh, it'd be amazing. I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE listening to rain when going to sleep XD

I hate when my Botfriend decideds that he wants beer and since he drank his, he's going to take from mine since its there. He justified it by saying since he walked in the rain to bring my ID that I forgot to the first aid building so i could get my Lv 1, that that was his reward. I'd told him I would give him a reward for bringing my ID...Beer was not the planned reward.
I told him that a reward is given not stolen.

Tomorrow is payday, I am taking his spending money, going to buy myself 2 beers and tell him one was to replace what he stole, and the other is compensation for the inconvinience. And give him whatever moneys left over.

Stepdad is stressing out like hell which is stressing me out like hell because our bills are about 2-3k a month since he has a lotta automotives (2 trucks and a trailor, gas is a fortune, trucks have to remain in perfect shape which is costly when they're always getting damaged from work) and hes diabetic and he's been faithfully working and living at the co-op for 15 years now, having worked many years in the past and once again working here as of 2 years ago and they've cut his hours constantly, screwing him around with numerous rules, giving him things that arent in his contract and taking things that are in it and now they've reduced him to 2 days a week.

Thats $400 a month. Our rent alone is $900 at least and its going up another $60 in the middle of the summer. They dont want to lay him off either, at least, not yet so he cant get unemployment insurance and all he's ever done in his life is construction work, driving, mantinence, landscaping and its killing him. He's broken his back twice, his kidneys are failing, hes losing feeling in his hands so he cant do mantinence very well, and hes 62 years old. All the doctors that he's seen have demanded that he needs to stop immediately but how can he? He cant afford to pay bills for one truck, rent, food, gas, and medication if he doesnt work as hard as he is now.

Wouldn't that just be escalating the conflict? I'm guessing that he's already out of luck as far as the 'planned reward' is concerned.

I can sort of relate, with the job part anyway. My dad's also seeing his hours cut to the point where we're living off savings. Ah well, at least it isn't killing him; can't say as much for your stepdad, though. I think there's one thing you can do for him:  I be that having a stepdaughter that cares is huge.

I keep having strange dreams, with people I know in them like for instance, one is this dude and I'm running after him through this narrow corridor it's almost like a drainage tube I get to the end of the tunnel and it's this younger version of him sitting there and he says "He's in there." and points to a door, so I open the door and sitting there is like a full grown version of this person. The person then tells me they're sorry and hands me something, I make a joke about it and tell them I have someone I want them to meet. And so I show them the younger version of themself and the dream ends.

Like why do I have weird dreams like this D: And what the hell could it even mean?

The point of dreams is to be weird.

At least yours are interesting. All I get are dinosaur / zombie apocalypse survival re-runs.

My manager just called, telling me I need to close tonight. Originally I was to work 4pm - 11pm. Now I gotta work 4pm - 1am.....and tomorrow I'm working 11am - 7pm. Seriously not fair. If Jon called off cause of his stupid girlfriend problems, I'm gonna be fucking pissed.

5.5 hour shift, no break and doing laundry all day? Not exciting. :( If only other people would do their jobs, then I wouldn't be so busy all the damned time. Doing laundry =/= dumping it on the floor for someone else to do later. >__<

An update...Jon didn't call off but still pissed cause Rob did. I guess he's supposedly sick but I don't really buy it cause he calls off more than any of us, claiming he's ill. But whatever.

Ugh...so sore from work. Nervous as hell about tomorrow tho. Tomorrow is the Women's State Championship Bowling Tournament that's being hosted at my work.

Good fortunes-- hopefully are on the horizons now for stepdad and i, he got them to lay him off and give him a letter of reccomendation-- and hes taking a month off for pension ^-^

OT: My night elf the past few days has been rendered unplayable because her fps has dropped to a 5.0 average. It happened out of nowhere some time later so ive been playing my warlock and i really wanted to play my elf again and shes still suffering from the fps drop. I even took her as far from silithus as i possibly could and logged off the game for a while to enjoy a drink and some tv with stepdad and my elf is still suffering from the fps -_-

Lol rant at people from the US who comment on foreign videos on youtube, like pretty much any foreign band is made fun of or talked down too. People can't seem to fathom that there is a vast cultural distance from here to there.
