Well, at least one problem is solved. :)

I suggest that you, Teigan, offer your Emotes here for download (custom-emotes.lua + custom-emotes.xml for other Editor users) as you did before I came here. That's not bad in my opinion. It is easy to install and works fine. If someone takes over coding (whom I know of) I'll guide him here.

Most likely PetEmote (the addon) will work until WoW 5.0 without bigger problems.

By the way, source code is released: http://ammunition-company.zirkel-des-ce ... es-weiter/

I'm planning to download that source and see if I can make sense of it. No promises I'll be able to, or have the time to do much, but the project intrigues me.

I think step 0 of any attempt to keep this alive is giving it a home independent of any individual's web space. Since Jorna has released the code without licensing restriction, it strikes me that placing it at a repository for open-source code, such as Google Code, would be a great idea; that provides a central code repository with version control and a place to host downloads, documentation, to-do lists and so forth.

Since Jorna has graciously provided a download of a Subversion version-control repository dump, it should be possible to import that easily into such a place.

Does anyone see a problem with doing this?

Great idea! :)

Well, I went ahead and did it: the entire revision history is now up at http://code.google.com/p/petemote/ -- I haven't done anything to the code yet, but that at least gets the recent version up there to start looking at.

We have a few players from Germany, I think, in these forums; I'm going to need help keeping the German messages up-to-date if I change any of the English ones. My German is only up to reading them, not writing new ones.

Also, does anyone have any bugs to report or any desires for changes?

Great, I did some promotion at my recent blog post. :)

Don't hesitate to ask them in English, almost every German player will understand you. Also we Krauts don't have problems with writing English, it's just the English who have problems reading it.

More internationalization (and code changes to deal with N languages rather than just 2) is certainly an untapped need, though it requires a native speaker to assist, I think, with any translation, at least as an editorial check to make sure there are no howlers.

I was curious, can this possibly work with a Guardian of the Ancient Kings when he's out and not in combat?
EDIT: Same goes for other temporary pets, like shadowfiend.

I'm not sure -- I'll do some research! I don't have a Paladin of sufficient level to test that, but I do have access to a shadow priest with the shadowfiend. Such temporary pets are very transient, though.

I didn't try that, but I'm pretty sure it won't work. PetEmote only works with pets that you can command. For instance, with the Ghoul it only works if the DK has the talent (not sure if that still exists). Otherwise it is a temporary companion like the ones from trinkets. Those can not have emotes.

So it won't work with GotAK, but should work with shadowfiend, Unholy DK ghoul (they're now automatically a minion if you're unholy), shaman wolves (they do have a pet bar) etc.

EDIT: Or do you have a pet bar with shadowfiend? Haven't played a higher level shadow priest in a while.
