Okay, so I went out to shovel where Ketch usually parks his car. It's street parking and lots of others who have cars here often take the space. But Ketch called me and asked me to clean it up so he could get into that space when he got home, so I did. I bundled up; hat, gloves, scarf, boots. I grabbed a shovel from the back hallway and went to tackle the space.

I was doing really well, too. The snow was fluffy (fluffy!) and not heavy at all. So mostly I could push it around until I hit pavement. I cleared enough space for his car and then some and started on the street itself. I wasn't far into this until, Helpful Plow Truck decides to work on our little side street! He took his truck up the middle, down the sides and even-after I moved to the other side of the street-that mess I was working on. I fist pumped and whooped at him, grinning in appreciation.

And then enter random driver who wants to park. After forcing her car through the pile at the end of the street, she starts up the hill. I watch and she goes to take the space I had just shoveled! And I am standing right there, shovel in hand. "Oh no you don't, lady! No. Oh heck no!" I start waving my arm-not the one with the shovel-and shaking my head. She sees my agitation and rolls her window down. I explain that nice person though I try to be, I did not just shovel that space for random person. Sorry, no dice. She moved her car up the street.

So I shoveled it, and then defended it. Win.

And flights have been moved. Going out on Saturday. But we shall get there...oh, we will get there.

She realized that you had a tag on that spot already, so she wasn't going to get any loot for parking there. Good work

Oh gods, this winter has been awful!

But after playing Airport Roulette and shifting flights and this and that, we go out on Saturday. Early morning, yeah, but it's not snowing in Florida. We're going Saturday the 5th, to Sunday, the 13th. So, after I log off on Friday, you won't see me until Sunday night.

I'll miss you guys, but dang, I won't miss this weather here.

It's gonna rain tomorrow! Weeee! It's water, not frozen! Okay, okay, I know, it's still precipitation, still something weather-ish falling from the sky. And okay, with all this snow already on the ground adding water to the mix might not be the best thing. I'm looking at you, Peabody Square, you flood prone zone you.

But rain will not keep my plane from takeoff on Saturday morning at 8am. Nope, it won't. Nor will it stop the other flight we need, the one my mother will be on and hour and a half later. One way or the other, by 5pm est tomorrow, I'll be in Florida, soaking up sun rays (with sunblock on- I burn). Need this vacation. Needs it we does...

Seriously though, yay warmth and Florida! I'm glad the weather is cooperating with you.

Well, as a lot of you know, we're back from vacation. We had a wonderful time despite Ketch getting a little woozy on the plane, not something he's know for and me getting a cold. Curse you, recycled airplane air! And thank you Florida, land of many pharmacies! But in spite of all that, we had fun. It was warm, sunny, and green. The winter blahs can really hit where we live, so green is good. We ate good food at great places, got sand in our toes and just really enjoyed the change of scenery.

Vacation is nice, but y'know, coming home can be awesome.
