So I got my Alpha Sapphire and fiance got Omega Ruby. One thing I dont like is I can't customize my trainer. :< That was the number one thing I loved in X/Y.

Customization was a nice touch, but it didn't really improve the experience imo. I guess I'm just one of the few that doesn't care that it's not in ORAS.
I decided to quit trying to complete the pokedex on my White 2

so I will never get the shiny charm or shiny Latias </3 I just can't bring myself to get those last 100 Pokemon or so that I'm missing. So I got Pokebank and transferred 1 box
...out of over 10 boxes...
this is going to take forever >< On the bright side, they all look lovely and the ones I never nicknamed from Soul Silver, Pearl, or even games before that whose names were like RAYQUAZA were changed to like Rayquaza which makes me happy lol the all caps thing bugged me.
Back when dream world was a thing, my bf would give me all his dream world Pokemon and he nicknamed them too! Usually cute names, but one time he got a Buizel which he decided should be named Titzel...I hope she transfers ><
I just beat the 7th gym in OR. MY TEAM!
49 Gallade
48 Sandslash
50 Zangoose
52 Sceptile
59 Milotic
49 Mightyena

I don't mind that there's no customisation. It's a direct remake of Ruby and Sapphire and there was no customisation in those games so I understand why they didn't include it.
In other news, super mad right now because I can't call my Poochyena 'Humphrey'. Guess why.

Is it because of the word 'hump'? I know they got stupidly strict with names >.<
I couldn't name one of my mons Iyyokuk in a WoW reference...now what is inappropriate in that name?!

I'd cry......so hard......
But yeah, customization meant a lot to me cause I do RP Pokemon so I got to make my trainer. Also I caught my first shiny in Alpha Sapphire without looking for it within the first few mins of playing it. Shiny Zigzagoon.

I'm finding a lot of people are getting shinies towards the start. I know I know, everyone's playing the game right now so yes we're going to hear about more shinies and no apparently the shiny chance was not increased anymore than it was in X&Y but... I got a shiny Treecko as my starter, my friend got a shiny Seedot at the start, another friend got a shiny Poochyena at the start, Junrei now has a shiny Zigzagoon without trying, Bowno saw a shiny Abra without trying and a shiny hunter friend of mine got a shiny Zekrom in only 79 soft resets. Just... wow. o.O

Everyone but me is having the greatest luck! Also, I heard that the chances of the legendaries from the dimensional portal things being shiny is the same as the the chances of getting a shiny in the friend safari which is a lot better than the usual chances. Now to go find a shiny I can call my own!

If that's true then I am DEFINITELY hunting for my shiny Virizion when I get to the end of the story. ^^ I'm taking it super slow cause I'm being distracted by the searching for Pokemon in the grass and sneaking feature... and I have an assignment due tomorrow so I haven't had much time to play. My Treecko still hasn't even evolved yet. x'D

I just unlocked my secret base last night, so I'm still taking my good ol time playing.
I haven't found a shiny yet. Although I did have a hidden Pokemon that looked glowy/sparkly that popped up right as I got in view of some weeds that ran because I was running. I didn't even have time to react. Do shinies that are hidden in the grass show that they are shiny? Or is it a random roll when you sneak up on them?
Also I thought there were more Mega Evolutions they didn't announce that were in the game? I haven't seen any information on that. I remember them saying something with the demo that you would play until you found one that wasn't announced. I figured we'd have info popping out all over then. Guess I remember wrong.

The mega evolutions from the demo were Mega Steelix (Japan got that one) and Mega Glalie. I don't think anything else came out after them.

Amazing shiny luck guys, grats!
I've yet to find any but I have been catching every pokemon I can dig up in a given route so my first attempt at ever getting the shiny charm isn't so hard (I haven't tried in past games cause by the time I hear it made it in-game, I'm so overwhelmed by how many pokemon exist and how many routes and trading and safari's I have to dig through to get them).
I brought over a few shinies I bred/caught from X too and given my luck with shinies and games, the game decided that since I have shinies, it's not going to give me any xD Example of that is when I hatched a shiny Swirlix after a month n a half of breeding on Halloween. I was in the middle of a tabletop RP game so I was distracted and I accidently released it when I was trying to put it into the PC box and get rid of the fail-breds that were in my party. One month later I'm still trying to re-hatch that little bastard (I hadn't saved prior to beginning the hatching so I lost 7 boxes of eggs, one of them being the shiny, when I turned the game off and on, cause my friend said they retain the coding).
Battle Frontier's design for running around the island is apparently designed to be perfect for hatching eggs in an endless cycle so I'm gonna try to get back to shiny hatching once I get there. Hopefully Omega Ruby is a lot more forgiving than X has been xD

That was a theory of mine but after finally encountering a "shiny" patch it turned out to be a voltorb, encountered several "shiny" patches that were all reliably voltorb...drats!!!!

Anyone need anything bread for them? I'm kinda bored and my perfect ditto is just sitting in my box not being used and I have a bunch of outstanding level 1 pokes already. SO if your looking for something let me know, I'll be breeding a perfect timid or modest Elctrike next, so cute
