Bumping this thread, as Petemote is definitely one of my favorite addons. Keep the faith brothers!

Lillaughingwolf - Read my post on page 48 and that'll answer your question. :D

And I've always done:
/pe gender female
/pe gender male

When adjusting the sex of my pets. Worked every time.

Don't know what's happening with PetEmote until it's officially picked up by someone. The last I heard, there were 2-3 interested parties.

If it were supported, this could change. If whoever picks it up wants a writer. If they don't, there's nothing me or anyone else can do about that, whether I was the main writer or not. If someone picks it up, I will talk to them and try to assure that you guys are properly credited for what was contributed, even if they choose not to work with anyone.

EDIT: And I guess if MoP doesn't break it, I could "bandaid" in the new families unless its properly supported by then, I suppose. If it were desired.

Hi! I'm Efindel, and after looking over the code for PetEmote, I've volunteered to try maintaining it. My own addons are all on Curse; the most relevant ones for this are AddEmote and ChatSubs.

The core of PetEmote looks pretty simple, and most of it seems to be written the way I would have written it, which should help. It looks like most of the complexity is in the structuring of the emotes themselves.

I haven't looked at the PetEmote Editor, and don't know yet whether I'll be able to do anything to maintain it.

I'll probably be relying on you, the users, for bug reports and such - I don't play Hunters much myself, so there are things I'll probably miss on my own. The fastest way to report bugs to me is to email me: efindel@gmail.com.

I should have some time to work on PetEmote weekend after next (the weekend of June 16, that is); by the end of that, I hope to have it up on Curse. If people can get updated emote files to me, I'll try to include them as well.

Thanks!

Fantastic. Thanks so much for taking the time to check this out!

I, uh... I suppose my earlier offer will no longer be needed then. It still stands if you change your mind.

Oops, it seems we had two people interested in doing the coding!

Considering it appears efindel offered first since I made the post on Curse (THANK YOU!) that he should be the main care giver of the addon.

Granted if efindel would like the extra help I'm sure he'll be more then willing to say so.
I am not trying to speak for him just so y'all know. :D

Hah, no worries. I probably should have said so after :P
I don't visit the Curse forums, so I wasn't aware of that. Regardless, if help is required then my brother (EthenCentaurai, generally) will be more than willing to help. Sounds to me he and efindel are pretty much on the same page skills-wise. Thanks for stepping in, efindel :)

I'd be glad to have some help! If your brother has used source-code control systems before, I'm planning to use Curse's git repository, and I could certainly give him permissions to check out and check in code there.

Well, things seem to be working out well. This is great news for the future of the addon. I suppose this means I don't get to retire though, doesn't it? Hehe. But seriously, thanks to both of you for pitching in and adopting this <3

<3 Teigan.
It's no problem at all. ethancentaurai is quite familiar with source-code technology, using it in helping with such addons as Chinchilla Minimap. He is concerned it may not necessarily need both of you to keep it up, but I'm sure you'll work things out ;) His contacts are on the previous page, but I'll post them again for convenience :)

ethancentaurai on Curse or WoWInterface or twitter.com/stevenblanchard
