OK, it's not like we're short on silithid variety, but they're so fun to play with! This time I thought I'd try the the colossus model.

It's interesting that the dark purple skin with red markings has a completely different back pattern to the other three in-game ones. Unfortunately it means you can't really mix it up with the other skins because the patterns overlap and look kinda messy and weird. But I can swap the colour channels around within the same skin and get some interesting results:

This is also the only skin that has brightly-coloured legs, so when you swap the colour channels around you get even more colourful legs. But they probably aren't any worse than the original.

The rest of the colours here are generated from one or more of the other three skins (mostly using channels from all three skins at once).

First some really striking shadowed ones. The first purple one is my favourite by far:

And a range of other bright colours that have never seen the light of Azeroth:

*giggles at the Christmas Silithid* That difference in back pattern is one of the reasons I prefer the purple boss silithid color to the others. I hadn't realized the legs were different too; that explains a lot! I did notice the eyes, however.

Those all look wild; I don't see any unappealing skins there at all.

I dont like silithids but damn id tame any of those silithids in a heartbeat, it'd be awesome if they made a colored colossus for each of the silithid nesting areas (>.>;; i really want the white one to be added in as a rare that shares timer with the white wasp in feralas, that'd be hella awesome and still make it a bit of a challenge to get since the timers are shorter but it'd be a 50/50 chance if you were camping)

Wow, a lot of those silithids look really cool.

I can't even express how much I hate the boss silithid model. It's by far the most repulsive model in game...but...these are absolutely delicious. I would definitely tame one on each of my BM hunters, and I can't even decide which they would be. Great job!

If you mean the green and red one, then that's funny.... to me that colouring made me think it was the Red Army silithid.

I originally did a few devilsaur skin mash-ups in this thread: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 8&start=70 , but on raptor models. I thought I'd reproduce a couple of those here on proper devilsaur models, and also have a go at a more colour varieties. Some are very sparkly! Some are also kinda weird, but I went for maximum variety in what I decided to post here. Hope there's something amongst them you like

The comical eyes still grate on me a bit, but there's not much I can do about that, unfortunately. All devilsaurs have it.

Only certain ones, which use the same format or similar, work. See that other thread I linked in my last post. It's full of examples I couldn't just stick a panther skin on a raptor though, I'm afraid. Or I could, but it'd look like a weird, raptor-shaped, blob. Possibly with eyes and teeth in strange places.

And since I'm feeling anxious tonight (about to fly overseas for a month, so I won't be online for a while!) I thought I'd play with some more model skins. These are just a few tallstrider skins with their colour channels swapped to make some pretty new combinations. My favourite is probably the yellow.

The eyes on that blue tallstrider are lovely! He looks so gentle and kind. Colour-wise, I LOVE the first one. Safe travels, Wain, I hope you enjoy your month!

The following "glowing" tallstriders are all derived partly from the in-game pink skin. It has much brighter, more "day-glo" colour properties than the other ones. The results are very tropical:

The devilsaur glowing eyes are why I love the green/yellow combination so much - it's got the best blending.

Nothing really speaking to me out of the more recent batches, though the day-glo blue tallstrider pops out to me for some reason.

I actually really like a few of those devilsaur skins, especially the pink and black one, and those tallstriders... *swoons* I love those tallstriders.

Ok, now I'm changing my tallstrider vote to the 'aqua' skin!

I love a bunch of those Devilsaurs and theres a crapton of those Tallstriders that i'd DIE to have in-game, like omg... some of them are so friggin awesome i cant stop obessing over them, id make a hunter just to tame all the colors i like cause theres just way too many for any of my current hunters
