Damnit Blizz! You brought back all the pets but not the first Hyena skin I ever liked? Talking about the Murderous Blisterpaw. Yep, I know there's other models like her but I want my pets rare...

I shall wait till it returns. In the meantime, I'm thinking of getting Slaverjaw. Comments on it? Or any others? Looking for more red/orange skins, as my stable theme.

Yeah, seems the Murderous Blisterpaw has gone into retirement....either that, or I strongly suspect that Slaverjaw was the 'replacement' for the position of rare hyena in Tanaris.

Slaverjaw is the new replacement as far as I'm aware.

It didn't exactly have a name before...it was just one particularly murderous hyena. The blood from its numerous victims seeped into its fur, staining it red, and the locals finally dubbed him Slaverjaw.

I tamed Slaverjaw right after Cata came out, because my poor Scarlet Tracking Hound had somehow turned into a jowly dog.

He hangs out in one place, so he isn't too bad to find. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but the red hyenas in Uldum may share the same skin.

Now I want my Barbarossa back... it's all Madexx's fault.

I'm pretty fond of Slaverjaw. Tamed him once and it didn't really stick... but I really find I need to check on him when I pass over Tanaris. >_<

That would be correct. Slaverjaw used to be the only available red hyena, in the time between 4.0.1 and Cataclysm's release. With the opening of Uldum, you can now tame the same skin on a common mob.

The ones in Uldum are color changers I think.

Tal, you're thinking of the Rabid Hyenas, which alternate between grey and yellow. The Bloodsnarl Hyenas, on the other hand, are a stable red, just like Slaverjaw. Both hyenas are in Uldum, which is probably why you got them confused

Possibly. Though Uldum is a looooong ways a way from Slaverjaw's level.

Yep but I was doing this on my baby-hunter, Uldum is too high for me. I got Slaverjaw, but eh...Kinda too red for me. I'll see what I'm gonna do.

I know we all see colours differently, but I would venture to suggest that most would agree that Slaverjaw's skin is a deeper, darker colour than Blisterpaw's!

Yep, the orange one was what I was talking about. I might get one from the commons though... And replace if he/she ever comes back

Keep in mind that there's a second orange hyena skin too: http://www.wow-petopia.com/look/hyenaskin.html. Take your pick between the subtle differences.

Ah. Was gonna say theres common mobs with that skin so you dont really NEED the Blisterpaw.
