Black Hunched Cats Outside Ulduar: 4.1

Apologies if it's been posted, but while Eagle Eye-ing through ZG, I found hunched red-eyed kitties. I couldn't Beast Lore them--ZG is buggy as hell and keeps porting me either to the entrance or to the Barrens. But chances are, they're tameable.

In other news, I see no Ohgan'aka in ZG, nor continuation quests outside the dungeon. Mandokir is on a skeletal raptor--possibly the remains of Ohgan reanimated, or his daughter killed and reanimated to make her more obedient? I am not sure. But I certainly hope they finish that quest chain
Edit: For the sake of posterity, these cats were confirmed tameable today.
Here is a vid on how to do it solo.

Nice find, they do seem like they'd be tameable. Maybe they will put the gem skin back onto the Ulduar cat ? That'd be sweet, and keep them both unique.

Nope, my ulduar cat is still the black hunched.

ulduar cats will always be more special, they're unique way of dieing... still fun for those who want it for the skin

Hi, I went back there and they are not tameable right now.

Thanks, lucky you for getting that far in
I still imagine that they will become tameable by release, though, but ofc that isn't 100%!

Hmm, that would be neat. I liked Bethekk; she was so kind that she not only gave me the fist weapon I really wanted, but offered me a second one when that big meanie Thekal wouldn't give me a fist weapon to complete the set.

Its not hard getting back there, just make a mad dash for the bridge, don't stop. half on bridge FD/Eat or bandage. Rinse repeat!
the worst part is running through those flowers at the beginning ... but a lot of stuff isn't even hostile in there.
Oh, make sure if you do it, when you run past a big Tiki, run a pretty good distance before fd'ing, Tiki's are very evil in there (back wall lined with them especially)

Oh no, I just mean, it keeps DC'ing me. It will crash and dump me at the instance start, or randomly port me there, or cut to the login screen or (the worst by far) dump me at the Crossroads graveyard : /

But eventually it lets me through and I can go playing around in there XD

This makes me sad, but I'm happy others will hopefully not have to go through the craziness in Ulduar for this skin. I just wish these would appear outside of instances someday for those of us who don't dungeon crawl and/or are unnerved by having to group to get one.

Oh I am so happy that this is going to happen.
I am in a tiny guild, just me and my best friend and all of our alts. I've been trying for weeks in General and Trade to get a group together to go into Uldar on my level 85 hunter to get one of those kitties with absolutely no luck at all. This will be a bit more obtainable, hopefully, if they are tameable as well.
I really, really am going to be keeping my fingers crossed for this, as it's started to become my 'holy grail' of cats-even more so then Sambas....

If they do become tameable, I can tell you 100% for sure that you can get to them without a group. It can get tricky but it's quite doable. Whether you'll manage to get a tame off without dying, though, is another story; since they aren't (yet) tameable, I've not tried

I think if I had to get my hunter friend to run around and pull all the other stuff while I try to tame that she would be more than willing.
On Gypsi I have the shiny hunched lion (cannot ever remember her official name) and we both adore her, so I doubt my buddy would mind being a sacrifice for me to get a black one on Shade!
Gah I wasn't going to worry about the next patch too much-want a hydra and one of the new saber cats-but wasn't as excited as I was about the previous patch-this is going to be something that I will be on pins and needles for.

I'm sorry Taluwen, but this sounds rather selfish doesn't it? I mean, your cat is still going to be from Ulduar, and thus, you will know that you put a lot of time and effort into it. Why do those who are not in guilds, or like Toph, feel nervous about groups, need to be punished because you made a hard, epic tame?
I really don't mean to attack you personally, it's just mind-boggling that there are people out there that want to take away skins from other hunters because they want to stand out.

Just irritating when I went through hell to get the cat and then suddenly people can just dungeon and grab it. I love having atleast one unique pet that not every hunter and their grandmother has(*cough* Sambas *cough*).
(BTW, Toph's considered joining a guild. I've offered mine before a few times, plus I got friends to help her out if she decides not to join. So chillax on that.

I'm sure hunters without guilds got about 7 friends to take them into Ulduar).
Plus this isnt taking away a skin. Taking away a skin would be asking it no longer be tameable period. That's not what I'm asking. And getting to the feline lady with 7 or less people took......30 minutes or less.....not that hard to get to her with lvl 85s in heroic gear.

I did like the suggestion that the Ulduar one should be done up with the black gemstone skin, to make it unique
Mind, I don't like the hunched model all that much, but it'd be an easy way to solve things

I'm glad to hear that Toph is considering a guild!
But regarding the 7 friends online, not necessarily. As an example, I'll use Mozag. Mozag is a lonely Horde on my Alliance server. When I first started the game, I made an equal number of Horde and Alliance on the server she's on. I was happy in a guild which was effectively the same people playing on both Horde and Alliance with only a slight variation in guild name.
While I was pregnant with my daughter last year, I stopped playing for a long while, and took myself out of the guilds, because I honestly didn't think I'd be returning for any longer periods of time again. Obviously the game sucked me in yet again, and I returned. Ceredigion the Tauren became Mozag the Troll, and I found great pleasure in playing her again.
However, during my pregnancy, we had finally managed to get a second computer, and my husband and I wanted to play together, now that we finally could! So, I created new Hordes on the server he had played on (different from mine, because of his friends), and deleted every Horde, except Mozzy from my original server. First, I like to have a foot in both camps, secondly, I love the server, it feels like home and thirdly, because I could never imagine deleting Mozag. However, I don't play her as much as my alts at the moment, and thus, I can't say I have more than one friend Horde-side on that server. Joining a guild with her would be unfair, because I wouldn't be able to devote the time I think a guild deserves, since I only log on her now and then.
This makes no difference in terms of the kitty, since the hunter I want it on is luckily in a lively, wonderful guild, and I will go to Ulduar to get it once she hits appropriate level. I just wanted to point out that there can be a myriad of reasons why someone is unable to scrape together 7 willing people for Ulduar, much less 7 willing people who are happy to let you go ahead and tame stuff in the midst of the raid.
I love certain skins whether they're rare or not, but I am all for sharing. If my fellow hunters can get a skin I have (and feel is special for whatever reason), and what's more, get it easier than I did, it makes me very happy. As an example, if KK's model was slapped on some common mob, I'd be ecstatic, despite the hours I wasted on camping him in the Basin. I want my fellow hunters to be able to get the skins they love with the minimum effort (but also to keep rares so that people can enjoy the high of those harder tames, if they enjoy that sort of thing)!

Well if anyone is on Moon Guard, I'd gladly offer the guild I'm in on Alliance side to help. I also have horde toons I can use to scrape into Ulduar.
Still....if you look at it this way, doing such things like slapping a rare skin on a common mob(such as Madexx) is a slap in the face to those of us that have worked hard to get the pets we want. You dont have to be in a guild to go into Ulduar. You can scrape up a pug easy.
