I heard Moby's "Wait For Me" the other day, and it was so sad & poignant... I saw the new Frostsabers coming in and had an idea for a video.

It isn't the most well-made vid in the world (I made it all in a few hours, mostly), but I liked the concept, and I think some Petopians might enjoy it

That's really well made, Ache! Only problem was how cruel Ache seemed...almost the perfect example of those "Ooh, shiny rare! Bye then, old friend." kind of hunters. Glad she went back in the end.

My char was just the -actress- ;D But yes, it struck me how horrible I feel sometimes say, bypassing a normal skin for something shiny, or whatnot. She released the white kitty where he was meant to be (in her mind) but still, that part of the vid is definitely meant to make you think about those "kind of hunters." It's just a game but sometimes we seem to do REALLY evil things!

And oh yeah--Saturo, next time it shall be evil viking metal, or something. Would that be better?

That would be immensely better, even if that's not exactly the kind of music I usually listen to. :D

I liked it a lot, it was really well made too. Not too many bells and whistles, just the real thing, a pure story

I love this so much! Reminds me of re-taming old friends when we got our bigger stables...they were there waiting for me to come back.

I loved it! It's actually... EXACTLY what happened to my cat. Leveled with him forever, then abandoned him for a shiny new pet. ;_;
Got him back in a bigger form though.

Oh, and now I really, really, really want to tame a white saber cat. Really, REALLY bad.

...Is it wrong that my ending would be where the cat dies and the hunter comes back and is all sad and mourns her pet and feels horribly guilty for abandoning the cat? Like, that's what I kept thinking would happen. I think it says a lot about my thought process, huh?

I would probably have an ending close to that, Azu. Although she'd find the cat dead, but with a kitten beside the body, so she could start over.

Mmmm, yeah. I can agree with that bit. The whole "Phoenix" factor thing.*

*It's a term I made up. I'm not sure if "phoenix" factor exists.

You know, about the pet dying in the end--that made me think of a Futurama episode I saw once. Fry has a dog, and they love each other more than anything. When he gets flash-frozen, obviously the dog never sees him again, as he gets woken up only far in the future.

He gets the opportunity to revive the dog in the future. They get very close to doing it, and then he says no, it wouldn't be right; the dog probably had a long and full life. They bury the dog.

The rest of the episode is a sort of montage/dream sequence that shows the dog aging, faithfully and sadly waiting for Fry to return until the dog's death. The whole idea is that the dog waited for him, and Fry turned down the opportunity to reunite them, even with good intentions.

It's IMMENSELY depressing, and I don't think I could ever make anything like that

I remember that episode, it was pretty sad.

Your video was good too though Ach and I'm glad you didn't go for an even more depressing route.

That was probably one of the best episodes in the whole series, along with A Roswell That Ends Well. I was crying at that little dog. :(

Oh gods, that Futurama episode. I cried too. So depressing...

I usually try to at least put a spark of hope at the end of depressing things.

Same : / To be honest, I thought it was a rather cruel thing to do to an audience--I refused to watch the show after that for a long time. It just seemed like a crappy thing to pull on people who are there to watch *comedy,* especially to brighten up a particularly bad day >.<

Very well done. The music and the visuals perfectly set the tone. I admit to feeling a little teary at that.
Brings be back to the the shattering patch, just when we got the 25 stable slots. I did a tour of duty, picked up a lot of old friends who had to be let go for one reason or another.

Anyway, bravo!
