See that handsome spider up there? He doesn't have a name! This has to be fixed.

A brief summary of how I ended up getting him... I had been reading Kalliope's posts about Tarantula spiders and had been wanting to give them a chance. Last time I tamed them, I was put off by how fast they "shake" when they run.

Then I played Spider on my iPod (a game where you play as an adorable leaping spider) and kind of fell in love with them. :-> They're adorable! So I headed out to tame a spider.

First I went to Dustwallow and tamed a Jungle Spider. I've always loved that skin. However, I really didn't feel like I had accomplished anything. Why? I've tamed that model spider several times. It's nothing new to me.

Then I went to Redridge and tamed the Greater Tarantula there. This time I was, again, put off by how fast it "shook" and I couldn't keep it for more than a few minutes. Argh!

Lastly, I went to Burning Steppes and tamed this guy. As soon as I tamed him, my mom came in and commented on how cute it was that my spider was scuttling.
That was a breakthrough. He doesn't shake, he scuttles!

Now I adore him. He's simply adorable in every way.

So, names. Typically I take simple names. My stable is made up of names like...

Zant (Oil-stained wolf, in reference to the Zelda villain.)
Grace

Phantom

So something simple like that would be great.

Hmm, how about... Crusty!
Simple name, describes the crust-like plates on his exoskeleton (in almost any sense of the word 'crust'), and is related to lava.

Or, you could go with... Scuttler! (alternatives would be Scuttles or Scuttle)
It has little to nothing to do with this particular kind of spider, but you bonded with this spider because it was pointed out that the creature scuttles. It would probably be the most meaningful name.

Finally, you named a pet Covalent?
But, now I'm being flooded with bad pun ideas... and they aren't even funny (probably because they aren't dirty, just silly).

For some reason, I am now thinking "Fuzzle" for this guy. Don't ask.

He looks like a Hades to me.
I'd like to second the name Fuzzle as well.

I'm leaning towards Zack, myself, but I think I'll give it more thought.

Yes, I have a pet named Covalent. :-> We were talking about atom bonds in science, and my Spiteflayer looks.. science-y.
