Wow Map Viewer? Does it still exist?

Okay, maybe the more artsy/machinima types can help me. I remember back at the end of Burning Crusade I had a program similar to model viewer that would let me explore around in 3d space in the gameworld. I believe it was called Wow Map Viewer. I could, for example, zoom into Twins room in Sunwell and get a good screenshot of the area from various angles.

Does this program still exist and/or function? I'm looking for a program that will let me get environments (for backgrounds of images) without having to actually take screenshots in game. (This has the added effect that I can get a screenshot of the area WITHOUT any npcs, which is handy.)

I'm pretty sure that program is still around, though I can't recally where you can find it. Try checking MMOwned for it, it's used by the guys who mod maps. Personally, if I want to just look around the gameworld, I start the game up and connect it to a dummy server, so I can fly around with no mobs or anything. Works almost exactly like the map viewer, except that I find it easier to control.

Can you elaborate on how you do that?

It's just like connecting to a private server, except that the server doesn't spawn any mobs and you're all alone in the entire world. Alone... Always so lonely...
