Is anyone else worried that come 4.1 with the Ragnaros raid, Terrorpene's spawn area is going to become incredibly crowded with people waiting for their raids to start? I'm thinking that 4.1 is going to make Terrorpene overcamped, and not just by hunters but by bored people with nothing better to do while they wait, making him nigh impossible to tame.

What my friends and I are planning to do is make him our next rare target, and try to camp him as much as we can until we all have him.

Having him in my stable already I'm not too worried about this, but I think you are right. Usually though he doesn't stay un-bothered for long after spawning even without a raid waiting. It probably would be worse later on, but can't be any worse than it was for Loque or is for Sambas and Karoma. They spawn in high traffic areas and if you aren't there within seconds often it's too late. Ahhh..... the joys of rare spawns.

Ya, I for one am relieved I got him already. That area will definately have a ton more traffic, which means more likely someone kills/tames him 5x as fast.

*nod* I do agree that with his area gaining traffic there might be a much more difficult aspect to camping him. I suppose all you can do is try your best to get him before 4.1 hits, and if not just stay persistent.

Is this where I am supposed to chime in and say that even though I already have him tamed there is a way for Blizzard to make him spawn more.

Anyways, this camp would benefit from a shorter spawn timer too. But also... Terrorpene spawning more doesn't always mean people won't kill it if they see him... but it couldn't hurt.

There were a few more pets that would benefit hunters by having a shorter spawn timer too, but for the life of me I can't remember which ones...

I agree that the area will generate more traffic. But I very much doubt it'll affect Terrorpene overly much.

Like a lot of rares, they don't stay up long. They are either camped or killed upon first sighting. A lot of people get summoned into the instance just about as much as people flying over to it, if not more. People usually just go afk inside the instance rather than fly around or whatever outside the entrance. This doesn't mean to say that they don't wonder outside. I very much doubt he'll spawn during peak raiding hours all the time. There will still be mornings, late night, noon, evening when the area is just as abandoned.

Of course a raider could just fly by towards the instance, sees Terrorpene and kill it.

Or Terrorpene kills him! Let's not forget our fave turtle hits like a damn truck.

Either way, I've gotten both my Terrorpenes very early in the morning, around 3-4. I doubt anyone would be raiding then (unless no lifers...eh.)

Still, you better go snatch it now if this really worries you. As for me, the more challenging, the better!

Firelands is not being released in 4.1, so there will be some extra time before it IS released in 4.2.

Yeah. I already had one bonehead kill him after I told him it only dropped a grey and his response was 'lol oooo a rare I had to smash it lol'. Dipstick. And it was a male night elf hunter too. Sigh.
