LF fluffy wolf, pst

Alright, fine. I'll try to make a little sense. I really hate the starving wolf model. I love wolves that look like huskies and huskies that look like wolves. But all the skins as far as I can tell look skinny and rabid. I do realize that pets look different in game versus the pictures, though. Some pets I've been underwhelmed with on Petopia I get really excited to see in game. So I have hope. Wolf-lovers, is there one that I'm looking for? What would be my best bet? My hunter would be blessed to have an attractive wolf.
Picture for reference of what I like:

Do they always look so angry? To me wolves are more spiritual, guardian animals, not savage beasts. I do really like the coloring on Ironjaw, though.

Yeah, all wolves in the game bare their fangs and all that... I personally like the regular wolves better...no massive tusks or starving look.

Just going to put a bit of my text in here:
PST= Please Send Tell.
So your title is actually "Looking For Fluffy Wolf, Please Send Tell Me.
And yes, I can agree that it is a bit sad that all wolves have the huge fangs and whatnot. Such fangs don't even exist in the real world, it would make eating a huge hassle. Besides, I doubt they'd fight better, just because they have to have their mouths wide open just to bite. In fact, I think it'd make fighting even harder for them.

Careful here!
There actually are two different wolf models, three if you count the worgen from northrend.
There is the direwolf model with large lower fangs:
Link to Petopia: Direwolf
And there is the ordinary wolf:
Link to Petopia: Wolf
I hope you can see the difference!
For what you are looking for, I'd say you would need to tame the second model in one of its available colors:
arctic,
black,
coyote,
timber or
diseased.
I think, this is closest to your reference as you will get. There is no kind looking wolf in the entire game, I'm afraid.

No offense or anything meant but;
http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skins/s ... white.html
All cats have saber toothed esque teeth that their irl counterparts
never have, not to the extent that they have in WoW. So not to sound petty or nit picky but that's just a silly argument. The other fact is the teeth wouldn't really get in the way of eating. And being smaller than most of the fangs their feline counterparts have, would allow them to eat just fine at anyrate.
The other thing is these are
Wargs or
Worgs which usually means
Battle Wolves so of course their fighting abilities are going to be maxed out more than the 'normal' wolves. Which to be honest aren't wolves at all but more of a Coyote model.
Tho op's post does make me sad as I'd kill for- or atleast celebrate a wolf-wolf model.

How is my argument silly? I dislike the cat models too, just for that little reason.

I guess the old world models are my best bet. I'll go find one and try it at least. Still wish they looked peaceful.
By the way, I'm not good with acronyms. I avoid using them unless I'm going for a certain effect. I was told that "pst" meant "whisper"- an onomatopoeia. I guess it's a good thing that I usually say "please contact me" instead.

Heh, for the longest time I had thought it was an onomatopoeia too.
Yeah, it really is unfortunate that WoW's wolves look so unnatural. I usually go for the thinner old-world wolves as well, as they look the most "realistic". The also have much nicer running animations then the other models. I personally think that the worgs look like they're limping as they run alongside you...

I was linking the worgs, btw, since you seemed to have already rejected the other "normal" wolf model. I think that the latter is the closest to what you're looking for, but if you're not into the constant back and forth "YEAHIMREADYBRINGITONNOREALLYIMREADYLETSDOTHISKILLKILLOOHWHATSTHATOVERTHEREABUTTERFLYIMACHASEIT" of the wolf's idle position, then you might like the statelier worg.
I used to prefer the old world wolf skin to all of them until I actually had to live with that bobbing. Drove me nuts. >_<

If you want a more 'friendly' wolf too, you can always pick up the
barking wolf from Mulgore. It looks more like a coyote, but it has an adorable little bark that makes it feel more friendly like a dog.

That one does look the most friendly and I love the varied colors. I think I'll haunt Mulgore tonight. I'll find out quickly if the animation bothers me. Now to decide which pet to abandon

I picked up the barking wolf, but I'm still on the fence. The warm colors are nice, and his bark/random howl is cute, but he still has a snarling face. Blizz, you owe us a fox, a husky, a shepherd, or a realistic looking wolf. Preferably all of the above. Why are the canine selections so limited, anyway? They were the first pets.

Sadly, you'll have the snarling face on any wolf/worg (and most other pets) that you pick up. It is unavoidable

For wolves that aren't deathly skinny, you need to look to old world models. There's two types, one that i call the "worg" and the other just "wolf".
The worg type model is wider-set/stocky, with big lower canines and a fluffy area of fur outlining the cheek. That model is available in a variety of natural tones, some with striking eyes that are blue or green. The portrait for that wolf looks fairly friendly. This worg has idle animations of: looking around, shaking it's head, and wagging is tail. Personally the run animation of this wolf bothers me. One of the back legs doesn't seem to follow naturally and appears to limp. When he fights his feet are planted and he bites.
The "wolf" model is a thinner (but not starved) model, with spiky fur on its back/shoulders. This wolf is available in fewer colors, but some are still nice. This wolf's face has s permanent lip-up snarl. However, the idle animations of this wolf are more endearing than the worg version. This wolf will sniff the ground, sit to scratch his side, and stretch his head up howling(with sound!). His run seems pretty natural. I personally love the idle animations so much that it totally overcomes the snarl-face for me. When this wolf fights, he will be more animated, sometimes doing a little hop forward to bite the enemy.
(its hard to find happy faces in wow- many of the male human and night elf faces have a permanent scowl too)

Noba summed up the Worg and Wolf models beautifully.
I'd have to say that in terms of expression alone, the Worg model does look friendlier to me. I don't find that they appear angry, their faces are fairly neutral when just idling. For some reason the Worg eyes look very intelligent and personable to me.
I have to agree that Wolves do have a very feral look to them. Their expression is set in a permanent snarl, there's no changing that.

And in my opinion, both could use a graphic overhaul. Or at least a tweak? They look so...ragged, kind of like the old druid models. I don't know if it's something Blizz ever plans to do or if they'll just bring in new/shiny versions while leaving the originals alone. I'd like to see the original models (cat, bear, and wolf specifically) spruced up a bit, but maybe that's just me.
