Thoaee's Art Corner

I have been lurking the forums for a while now, and never really said anything. So I would like to start of with a big "hello" to everyone here!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HISTORY:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My name is Thoaee. My main (and first ever character) is a feral druid tank on Twisting Nether - EU. I am an animal lover, I study animal management for example ;) and I just couldn't help myself but to create a hunter as well and join the taming madness. I have been playing this game since vanilla, and stuck with the same characters throughout the years. Thoaee as my main, and Acraea, which is my hunter, as my main alt. I have switched to a mage every now and then. But the hunter always kept pulling me back.

When The Burning Crusade first came out I knew I had to make a blood elf hunter. I already had a troll hunter, but race change was not available back then (and she was only level 21 at that point anyway), that I decided to make a new hunter. And so Acraea was born (started with the name Melano mind you, but changed as I transferred servers). At level 16 I had finally made up my mind which pet I wanted to get. Having been passionate about reptile ever since my childhood, I wanted a deviate stalker from wailing caverns. One of the grey raptors from just outside wailing caverns instance.

And so, my lifelong companion was mine. His name is Martin. I still have him to this day, and he travels with me where ever I go.

He has been to Karazhan with me, has sunk his claws into Gruul, has seen the trolls in Zul Aman (and even ninja-pulled zul'jin once when he was on passive, do you guys remember that bug?). He was there when we defended the Isle of Quel danas and was my faithful companion when striving to earn our title 'of the shattered sun'. He has always stood by me through the hard times we had.

As time passed Blizzard made more pets available to be tamed, and with the new 'exotic' pets tameable I knew I had to go and get myself a devilsaur. But the colours available in vanilla and tbc never did connect with me. Not for such a big animal. When Wrath of the Lich King finally came out though and it was announced that there was a rare green devilsaur in Sholazar Basin, I knew I had found my beasty. And so I set forth to get King Krush.

King Krush has always eluded me however. No matter how often I flew around in Sholazar Basin, either someone had beaten me to him, or he just wasn't there. So now with Cataclysm out, my main character leveled and all set for raids I finally had some time again to level my hunter. I leveled her from 80 - 85 purely on instances, and while waiting in the queue I flew laps around Sholazar Basin. It took me only 3 or 4 days to level her to 85. It was quicker then I thought. And finally... the 4th day I found him. Strolling around near the wasp hive in South Eastern Solazar I knew I had to be quick. Because at that point in time there were 2 other hunters in Sholazar as well looking for him. I tamed him not a moment too soon, because as I was done with taming a Night Elf came dropping out of the sky and shot me dead (pvp server). But I made it. He was mine. Krush now travels with my where ever I go.

ART GALLERY:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now. I would like to use this topic as a personal art gallery. I might occasionally accept requests. But for the time being I'm closed for those (working on one for a friend of mine at the moment, plus very busy with university stuff).

REQUEST STATUS : CLOSED

Acraea & Krush:
This is Acraea and Krush. Acraea is displayed in full Tier 2 (except the helm...) sitting on Krush's back.
Apologies for the darker shading to the sides, The paper I drew this on was bigger then my scanner :P. I will scan it again once I get a new (and bigger) scanner.

Acraea & Krush; Acraea Details:
Here's a close-up shot on Acraea's armour details. It was a right pain to create all the details on the armour. Took me about 2 or 3 hours to do.

Acraea and Pets
A quick doodle I did of Acraea and her Pets.
Again, my scanner is NOT cooperating...

Seconding Tyger's welcome! :)

Oof. I can easily imagine why that armor took you so long. Lots of detail, there! Nice job!

Great job! I love the sense of scale on Krush, how it gives a sense that the green beast is larger than he appears.

The raptor's head looks a tad big, but other than that it's wonderful! Very well done. :D

Maybe it's a juvenile raptor? You know how the baby raptors have proportionally huge heads compared to adults. Or, the head could just be that - a big large.

All that aside, that's some fabulous work there! See if you can get access to a better scanner; maybe a public library?
