The rarest find - My TLPD 'tame'

Yes, I know you don't really tame it.. but if anyone else has hunted this guy down, you know how long it can take. And I like to think that he let me tame and mount him, not kill and loot. But heres my quick story:
Amidst hunting down rare pets for my hunter since the first week of February, I had also kept my paly parked in Storm Peaks since mid-January looking for the extremely rare and much sought-after Time Lost Proto Drake. For those of you that aren't aware, the TLPD shares its spawn with another rare: Vyragosa, a blue dragon (no where near as rare as the TLPD, but rare enough to be on the Frostbitten achievement). Fast-forwarding about 2mths ahead, I had seen and/or killed Vyragosa 14 times without a single TLPD sighting. And as some of you can relate, thats with spending who knows how many hours in Storm Peaks either camping, doing flybys, or just a simple 5min search before work.
Then on Tuesday March 8th, I woke up at 2:15am.. proly because I had taken a nap earlier that day from having an out-of-whack sleep schedule. I figured I'd log in, do my usual routine: check for a couple rare patterns on the AH on my priest, do the same for my hunter, then I logged over to my paly to do a quick search for a certain bronze drake. --------------*NPCSCAN ALARAM*-------------- Talk about making my eyes open up.. in a matter of .5sec my thoughts were: rare spawn! who? holy crap its TLPD! where!? Dead in the snow... aaand there goes my one shot of ever getting it. Talk about disheartening.. oh, and the 82 BE Hunter that got it was kind enough to /snicker at me. I'm glad people can show their true colors in their proudest of moments. Anyways, I couldn't fall back asleep that night knowing I just missed him by a matter of 30sec to 1minute.
I didn't log on my paly for a couple days after that encounter.. which may not sound like a long time, but if you've ever truly hunted the TLPD, 2 days is like 2wks. Eventually I slowly began doing my 5min flybys. Thats all I basically did ever since, camping him just didn't seem worth it. You have to understand.. some people have hunted the TLPD for 6mths.. 10mths.. without ever seeing it. I really felt I missed my chance, and it was displayed in my following efforts.
It was now Tuesday March 15th and I had just gotten home from work. Tired and hungry, I started up my WoW downloader update while I grabbed a snack from the kitchen. I decided I'd log on my paly first to get it out of the way. He was, of course, parked near the frozen lake in Bor's Breath.. as I found this spot to be the only location where you were near an actual spawn point as well as 3 of the 4 pathing routes. I was making my way towards the Brunnhildar spawn point when --------------*NPCSCAN ALARAM*-------------- A quiet, rather calm reaction.. within .5sec it was: rare? which one? TLPD... get out... Alive? GET...OUT...! Go tag it or I will murder your face......... GO GO GO
I probably sat there for 20min without moving.. just staring in disbelief, saying out loud "no way.. I don't believe it.." with a shocked grin on my face. Words can't do justice to the sensation of that moment. Just can't. If you've been playing WoW since day one like myself, you've seen and experienced alot of stuff, good and bad. And you really treasure those few crazy amazing moments, whether from raiding.. pvping.. taming.. getting a piece of loot after months of waiting.. or whatever rare thing it is you hunted for. For me - nothing will ever top the following three moments: (1) First Vael kill 3/25/06; I think we all still suffer a bit of hearing loss after the outburst on vent, lol (2) First original Kelthuzad kill in Naxx40 1/7/07; we stayed up til 3am and got him on our last try of the night, one week prior to the TBC expansion (3) My TLPD 3/15/11
Hope you fellow TLPD hunters find your prize one day, happy hunting.
