Since our old GM quit and passed guild leader to my friend, we decided that it's FINALLY time to rename the guild. Our name is currently <Thunder Bluff Steakhouse>, and we are an alliance guild. Yes I know it's lame. Since we are a serious raiding guild, we figured we want a more serious guild name (and we also are having trouble recruiting people because of the name lol). The only problem is, we don't know what to name it! The examples I have are 2 guilds on my server, named Reanimated and Hardline. The meaning doesn't matter much, as long as it's nothing corny. HALP MEH!

So I'm going to recommend what I use for my alts on Nesingwary(Hi Sigh!): This fantastic random word generator.

Just running it through a few times(under 'noun' and 'uncommon' settings, although you could use any) gave me Typicality, which is cute. I also got Conspectus, which sounds arty but actually means 'a general survey' or 'a summary'. The major theme seems to be '-ality' and '-ed' names, or just a 'cool' word by itself. Play with things and how they sound until you find something you and your guild members like, or something that represents the guild in general.

Hah! That's the same one I was going to recommend. Some interesting ones tonight: Submetallic, Darkling, Tamarisk

I also like using this Fantasy Name Generator. It might be useful if you just want something that sounds interesting.

Finally, I spend a lot of time on thesaurus.com. (Don't ask.) The words of the day are sometimes pretty interesting. Ubiquitous. Psychomancy. Imbroglio.
