FUUUUUUUU!!!!!

14 hrs just went down the toilet. I left for just a moment and was on a flight path while a new troll hunter buddy was keeping an eye out for me. He whispers "TERRORPENE!!!" just as I had hit the flight path and I was trying to stop and turn around. Then a lvl 85 came and took Terrorpene even though my friend was pleading for her to stop because I was OMW there. She tamed him anyway and called him a dick for tagging him. I was so pissed! My friend blames himself but I told him it wasnt his fault. But fuck....14 hrs.....I whispered her nicely about it and she got pissy with me, saying she deserved him more because she wanted him for 2 months(but she never camped him) and didnt care that my friend was sitting RIGHT THERE when he spawned. I mean seriously....is there ever any consideration for others anymore? ><;

blehh. This is always one of things that I'm on the fence about. It was smart of your friend to tag him and [try to] explain that she was there first but... She was there? Granted, she was being rude/snippy about it and that's uncalled for. If they had been waiting for a spawn for 2 months then grats. They could have been waiting for 14 hours, just not in one block, ya know? Still irritating either way. But also, tagged! That should have at LEAST tipped her off that hey, this guy who was here first wants this pet... maybe?!?

Anyway, I'm really sorry that happened to your friend. How frustrating to have him RIGHT THERE! *hugs* Hopefully he will spawn again sooner rather than later! *sends friendly Terrorpene vibes*

EDIT: I had the same story with Jadefang. I parked myself up next to her spawn site, logged out for the day, came back to find a Dwarf Hunter there, and no Jadefang. It was raid time, so I mounted up and ran towards the lip of the room she spawns in, when the Dwarf whispers me and says 'I was here first'. I thought long and hard, and just said 'Don't worry, I'm not here to spite you'. He just said 'go away, I've been camping over 12 hours'...Good for him and all, but I had no intention of stealing a tame/kill off of him, but I was peeved off by his ignorance, so I said back 'Well, it deosn't really matter whether you were here 12 hours or 12 minutes, Jadefang is fair game. However, if you get there first, I would not spite you, and I would even congratulate you if you did!'. Now a normal person would reply: 'Alright then, see you', or something along those lines. He called me the c word. I told him to wash out his mouth and stop snivelling like a child, to which point I ignored him and reported him.

Griefers should not be tolerated in any way, shape or form. She should not have gotten lippy to you and should have let you tame her, since she was already tagged. Maybe not by you, but that's hardly the point. I would leave a tagged mob ALONE. Just my two cents.

Miraga: I always say if you SEE another hunter there, go away. I always feel its wrong to try and swoop in on another hunters camp/tame. But apparently not everyone feels that way. Course when the 6 hr time is up, I'll be at work. --;

Tyu: *huggles* Karma can be a bitch. Karma is the biggest bitch of them all and I really hope it gives her a swift butt kicking. Seriously. And I agree...tagged mobs should be left alone.....and wow....that dwarf was an ass to you. Sorry he was like that. D:

I can probably ask, maybe persuade my fiance of best friend to go on my toon to camp for me since I only work 6 - 9pm tonight.

BUT I have notice Terrorpene likes to spawn the second you go away. Happened to me when I was camping him. 14 hours I think, nothing. Go upstairs for 5 seconds, come back down to see a yellow dot right below me, no scans went off. Hovered over the dot 'Terrorpene' FFFFFF. And when I went on a massive rare rehome spree a warrior friend had just been over looking to see if Terrorpene was up and he wasn't. I look and there is the turtle waddling happily in lava. This turtle is a tricky one!

Sounds like this person needs to read my guide. :O

I see him zone in and out presumably for dungeons or something similar, and then he flags up and sits on the ledge above me - his pet wasp(aptly named 'Wasp') leaves a red dot on my minimap, and I can only assume he left it there for me to mistake for a giant, flaming turtle and shoot it. He finally left, but not before a Draenei set off our scans by deciding to fish in the lava pools with her Terrorpene out. >_>

I have nothing against fly-by rare-hunting - that's how I found Madexx, and you could even count Terrorpene and Karoma as 'fly-bys' too since they didn't spawn where I was sitting and I didn't see them until I flew over them. But I very strongly believe that if someone is there camping, it doesn't matter if you've been camping for a day or a month - flying in to steal their spot or their pet or their loot or their girlfriend is wrong and it will always be wrong. It's not that hard to show restraint - I know there's a knee-jerk reaction when a rare you want spawns, either a 'TAME IT' or 'KILL IT' depending on what you play, but after the initial burst of adrenaline all you have to do is /grats, write down the time and go sleep or eat or take sexy pictures until next camp session. It sucks, but someone else was there first and that's all there is to it. You're not more or less deserving of a pet depending on how long you've "wanted" him - if you haven't done anything about it, I'd wager to say a guess that you don't deserve it.

What I think is funny is that I wish I could say people don't steal other people's real-life pets because they're rare or pretty but...well.

On the brighter side, you a)have a time and b)will not have to worry about the offending hunter returning, as she already has her ill-gotten lava turtle that she deserved so much more than you because she um...didn't camp for it. I wish you the best of luck, and keep me up to date so we can have a Terrorpene party.<3

That sucks. I was really really lucky with my rares: Skoll, Loque, Terrorpene, Olm, without any problems with other players.
I'm even more lucky 'cause the pets I wanted the most are mine, so the others are not so important to camp them.

Yeah I hate it when that happens. and you're right. I've always believed if someone else is already camping, LEAVE. It drives me nuts when other hunters hang around when I've been there longer. That one dude, Zheros(Remember him?), was hanging around me and camping ontop of me earlier today.

Oh yeah. I believe it. I had a neighbor that got her dog stolen right from her yard once. Poor woman was heartbroken....

Anyway...nabbed him at 2:30am server. He must've spawned when I fell into a deeper sleep due to being dead tired from the last camp. For some reason, NPCScan never went off, thus I never awoke. My real Alarm Clock, however, awoke me and I found myself logged out of WoW. I log back in and see he isnt there so I start flying and....oh look a moving rock---wait....Thats Terrorpene!!!!!

I swoop down, popped prismatic elixir, ancient hysteria, lifebloom, deterrance, pot of speed, and tame!

Health draining.....to 50%.....BING!!!! Terrorpene was miiiine!

YAY! But I also got a new friend earlier today.....
