uhhh shouldnt the spectral owl be in the spirt beast family???

The ghost saber isn't a spirit beast, either. Certain pet graphic types are not exclusive to exotics only. After all, Survival and Marksmanship hunters deserve really cool-looking pets just as much as beast masters do. I personally think beast masters have been a little spoiled by the launch of Cataclysm with not one, but two brand-new spirit beasts already.

Do you mean that as a general question or are you asking about Petopia's classification?

For the latter, no. Olm is not a spirit beast.

For the former, well, I know a few that think so... On the other hand, as Tahlian pointed out, we have enough see-through/spectral pets that aren't spirit beasts to call it a precedent. Personally, I'm glad that I get to use some of my funkier pets when I'm not in BM.

Nope. Olm is not a spirit beast and there plenty of tameable ghostly/spectral pets that arent.

- Phase Hound

- The Lone Hunter

- Boar Spirit

- Disembodied Jormungar

- Grimtotem Spirit Guide(No longer tameable but people have him still)

The first boss in Razorfen Kraul, Aggem Thorncurse, summons Boar Spirits every so often during the battle. It was barely soloable around 32, and I died the first few times. You can't trap one and kill him, as it kills the boar, so you have to tame and hope he doesn't kill you. Obviously this isn't a problem at 85.

And where exactly do you get that idea? Yeah, it's exotic...but it's NOT a spirit beast. It's a disembodied Jormungar.


And for the record, as someone who used to have one...that little bugger's danged hard to see and keep track of sometimes. Much more so than the other ghostly or spectral pets I've encountered and used.
