Skoll Blues

I have no idea how you guys do it. I spent usually 4 hours(or more) a day sitting down at the disk, every hour or so I make a few passes along the other points but im never gone longer then a two or three minutes. I mean I have npc scan and books and homework and a guild and a TV but its just so hopeless.

Day one an orc kills him at the disk so another hunter cant get it. No idea how long she was waiting for it
Day two, aforementioned orc gets it at the disk
Day three my hunter friend gets 3 of the spirit beasts in one day. including skoll at bors breath
Day four, a bull gets it at the disk.
Day five, maintenance. I log in seeing a dwarf taming it at the disk. I was seriously two minutes late.

then im on spring break and away for a week

Day six was empty and lonely not sure when I missed the spawn(s)
Day seven a dwarf tames him, he was kind enough to tell me what time. I waited 6-8 hours and nothing.

I asked each of the hunters for when they found him but I guess im just unlucky. Any stories of long camps? I mean is there a Skoll support group? I mean I missed three raids and god knows how many randoms, and my significant other is coming back to wow and he wants me to play with him. I dont wanna say no.

USE THIS!

It's a lucky charm. ^.^

Anyways, in all seriousness, take a day where you can just sit and camp for 10 hours straight. Weekends are usually the best. I know that sounds daunting, but that's honestly the best way to nab a rare creature. The time goes by quicker than you'd expect, and as long as you have NPCscan on and your WoW audio turned on in the background, you can tab out and do other stuff while you wait. There's really no other advice I can give you. Good luck, you'll have him eventually!

As for taming stories, I just got Skoll a few weeks back, here's my thread on him (including updates through my long camping session xD):

I've found an easy approach is best. Don't drive yourself nuts looking for him. Pick one of his spawn points. Every hour, log in and check if he's there. If not, wait five minutes. Maybe he'll spawn. Still no Skoll? Move on with your life. It takes longer, yes, but it's such a relaxed approach that it makes it feel less miserable. That's how I did it, and I found it was very nice. You'll get him! Don't worry.

I found him three times in the same spot by accident (by the disk, it's the closest spawn to where I was all the times I saw him). Obviously different days, but I was just doing my polar bear mount quest, was thinking "Oh, what the hell, I could just check...", go up there, and he's rolling around in the snow like it's the best damn day on Azeroth.

It just takes time, and a little patience to get him. :)
I'll make sure to send Ares to give you a lightning-filled lick of luck whenever you go hunting for his doppelgänger. xD

Somewhat the same for me. I also wanted skoll but never spent the time camping hime. I would just make a daily pass on his spawn spots to see if he was there. Once when I signed on, and then again just before I signed off. He happened to be there on one of my passes.

You will get him.. Veph Lucky may help you along.

Yeah, just take it easy. Don't turn it into a huge thing, just relax and have fun with it. I had initially planned to stick it out, come back later and read my english homework while sitting in front of the disc, and then he spawned. Just relax, get something to do, have NPCscan up, and check in every once and a while.

Also, Veph's Skoll Charm really helps a lot :D

like people said dont drive ourself mad with skoll :3 get on vent fly though his points ( mining and herbing as you go) ive seen him at the pass into the valkly town that for the life of me i cant remeber the name of :3 then the frozen lake after that town ... you could even follow the Time lost proto drakes path since that overlaps everthing!

somewhat distressed, a few people stopped by my campfire to talk, and what I got was "good luck camping your mount" seriously? do people think that skoll drops anything good? I mean he is not part of any achievements >< and he drops crappy blues. Ugg why cant they just phase him or something or only let hunters see him.

Hmm, they might have confused him with the Time Lost Proto Drake (for some strange reason)....they are on pretty much the same paths.

Just correct them and say that he doesn't drop anything too exciting. Hopefully spread the word. :)

I got Skoll on my main by the help of a guildy. He apparently came across Skoll and tried to kill her. Skoll won. He then thought, maybe someone in the guild may want her! I almost crashed my mount when he asked over GChat. He stayed with her while I flew over there and tamed her. Now if I could only find her on my Alliance hunter......

dont worry i spent like all night last night looking for skoll for a ex guildie and no luck either athough there was alot of TLPD'ers about tbh since they share the same paths i wouldnt be shocked if they killed him yes he isnt part of teh achivment but alot of people have NPCscan and killing rares well kills time and if npcscan gose off most just target and kill
i knew a guy who killed them for the cloth and he got like 20g+ from each kill

Yeah, he'll come to you when you least expect it. Or, better yet. No Skoll, but rather TLPD! That'd be just as good, imo.

Spent 6 hours last night... no Skoll. So I'm back to camping for him now. I even tried tempting him with a Snowshoe rabbit, Mr Wiggles, and a Westfall Chicken. he hasn't gone for any of those yet. Maybe he's a vegitarian?

Bloodmyst Flayer Sprout or whatever it's called. It's a plant. Should work wonders.
Or perhaps the pumpkin plant from HH?

You should try offering some of your mounts too, if nothing else seems to be doing the trick. I know I did offer all my Rams for Krush if he would just show up.

I also kinda promised him that I would tame a female Devilsaur of his choosing for his *ahem* stuff...

... But I mean, if I was a beast like Skoll, I would want way more than a couple of silly bunnies. I would need a whole Elekk to satisfy my hunger. And a Gnome Warlock with pink piggytails for dessert.
