Another "That pet I thought I didn't want but actually did"

Well, technically I did want her, just not on both hunters.
Soon after I found how well Spiteflayer went with Kwillix I released Astrid, Varethyn's Spiteflayer. After turfing out a few others I'd decided to tame the rare cats again and so Sol (Pogeyan), Luna (Shadowclaw) and Stardust (Duskstalker) joined the stables alongside Loki (Sambas) and Myst (Ghostsaber).
One slot still empty from where Varethyn said good-bye to Astrid...
I looked longingly at the white gorillas Uhk'loc and Tsul'kalu and considered getting one of those. Lo and behold Kwillix spots Uhk'loc and Varethyn rushed over to tame. But it didn't go as well as I hoped. I stared in amazement for a few minutes before immediately stabling the poor thing.
About 2 weeks later Varethyn was back in Blasted Lands en route to a dig site. I always check to see if any rares were up but sadly none were. As I was about to head back after digging I had the thought of retaming Astrid anyway, despite Kwillix loving his Styx. Settled on the idea I prepared to continue archaeology for the night and come back tomorrow to look for her. (I always consider Spiteflayer to be female.)
Miraculously, no sooner had I finished the thought Spiteflayer almost literally spawned in Varethyn's face! "OHMYGODICAN'TBELIEVEIT" I think and set down to call her home, but my pet slots are all taken! Mounted up, cursing not having 310% flight (not that I wouldn't have cursed to go faster anyway ) and wing it back to Dreadmaul Hold. The one I released of course was Uhk'loc.
Astrid is now back home and is as happy as her master :)

Thanks :D I'm glad to have her back. I did try Zaricotle for a while but we simply didn't go. The guild was excited to see her back too :)
Welcome home, Astrid.

Dude, your sig is awsome! Oh, and so is your Spiteflayer! I miss mine, but my Zaricotl is every bit as awsome, and with more personality.
