In the Cataclysm beta, the rare seahorse Poseidus dropped a seahorse mount, which was removed before release-- but according to MMO-Champion, it's back in 4.1. Something new for everyone who isn't tired of camping TLPD or Aeonaxx I guess.

I will probably never see this one since I avoid Vash'jir like the plague. PLAGUE

Seconded on avoiding Vash'jir, icky place. I wish they'd change the functionality of this little guy so you could use him elsewhere. Flying seahorse mount would be most excellent, but I'd happily settle for being able to use them for an outside-Vash'jr swimming mount like the sea turtle.

Still...it would be pretty awesome to have the Seahorse mount. Maybe someday, but I don't think I'll be actively looking for it. x)

The tooltip implies a bit that it could be used outside of Vashjr.

I still want the turtle, but since I've actually run across that seahorse before by accident and I still haven't fished up a turtle, I'm cool with this addition.

From the tooltip I'm pretty sure this is the new Sea Turtle. Neat.

Oh man =( I've seen Poseidus up a few times, now I'll never see him again!

Same here. xD I've killed him once, actually. Dropped 97g, so I thought he just dropped gold.
Darn! I'll have to look for him more. Although I never go there..

Well NPCScan actually picks him up if you're way above him, you can just hover above the sea and avoid swimming/being underwater if that isn't your thing

On a side note, HOPE he's not Vashj'ir only, it would be of great use for that annoying daily (with the crabs under the docks in SW....grrr.)

in all my travels back and forth between burgy blackheart and GC's spawn points, i have killed this guy sososo many times.

guess i know where i'll be logging out on the night before the patch!

edit: he will be rideable in water anywhere in the world. there is already a vashj'ir only seahorse mount, remember?

ChaosStorm posted on the forums earlier today and confirmed that the Reins of Poseidus now drop from Poseidus in the Abyssal Depths (Vashj'ir). According to his post the mount is usable in other water environment, the mount has a 270% speed in Vashj'ir and 108% speed in other areas.

So yes you can use him while you go searching for burried treasure in STV!

Maybe underwater races? That might be fun too

Yah he is for sure more green, I couldnt get a good SS of my mount, but I was playing around with the mount in Org
