Good pet leveling locations

So I'm not sure how many of you out there have one or two pets that you keep swapping out to try others for.. but I figured it's a give-in that we'll all level our pets at least once during our time spent as hunters. For some pets we'll need to level them up 5 levels to catch up with us. Where are you found leveling those pets the most? What places have you found to make that xp grind go by a little bit faster? =)
My favorite:
At 80 I personally love farming the converted heros in the valley of fallen heros in Icecrown (
http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=32255). The multi-mob pulls give pets half a bar of xp at level 75 and around a third of a bar at 79. After putting down an explosive trap at my feet I pull with a volley and wait until they set off the trap before doing another volley right ontop of my pet and myself. I only need to do a volley once or twice before the mobs drop and my pet gains that lovely half a bar. As for the hunters, you gain a nice chunk of gold from silver (the mobs drop around 20-40 silver on average for each) and vendor trash. I would recommend farming these as marksman with Imp. Barrage (
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=35111) and in blue gear at least. I have seen the pulls farmed in other specs though. You will just drain more mana from having to keep casting volley when it gets interrupted. The mob groups have a quick respawn timer so by the time you kill off ten or eleven groups, the first group you killed will be back. The time seems to pass a whole lot quicker gaining the xp in-mass like this so the location and mobs have become a fast favorite of mine.
Recommended itmes:
Engineering bombs for groups that don't die after just one volley
Runic healing pots for pulls gone wrong
Runic mana pots for when you forget to regen mana between pulls (<- has done this before)
Heavy frostweave bandages to heal between pulls
Plenty of food and water for when health and mana become a must
An epic flyer to get from one group of mobs to another quicker
I would also get a good playlist or music station to listen to while grinding out the xp. I personally listen to the stations on
http://www.sky.fm/ =)
So how about the rest of you? Any good pet xp grinding locations/tips?

Well, if you have skinning, you can farm leather in Scholazar. It's relatively quick xp and some nice skins. But those heroes are the best farm I know of, too.

To brutally honest, I find that Heroics [and or dungeons] level my pets up the fastest. One day when Yas was still lv 78, I got into a run with 2 priests and a DK who wanted to do multiple dungeon runs. We got CoS/Oc/UP/HoS done that day. And I leveled up 3 pets during the runs.
And to be honest, pet dps should be the last thing you're worrying about in a heroic these days. People outgear you so much, that mobs can be dead before you've even done more than look at them.
That and I don't have to waste pots, bombs or anything else grinding up exp.

Yup, Heroics are easily the fastest and easiest way to level a pet. I've never had a single person make a comment if my pet wasn't 80. Most people don't even notice, and if they do...so what? As Ryai said, Heroics are practically on easy mode these days with the gear that most people have, and having a slightly lower level pet hardly affects DPS at all.

Yeah I brought my Loque'Nahak in at only 78, and he dinged and went halfway to 80 on just one UP run. It was pretty fast!
I'm just super-happy I don't need to level Skoll, as he's already 80. Even if I usually run laps of Sholazar to farm leather for LWing/selling, it's still a major pain in the butt. Especially since, until pets get their final tier of growl at 80, I keep pulling mobs off of them

Even BM can pull aggro off of their pets, levelling 73-80 is such a pain for me, because the pet refuses to hold aggro for more than a second.

They changed Cower, you know... And if i misdirect, I steal aggro anyway, just a few seconds later. Those levels feel so futile that I tend to just go WG and AV.

I actually play exclusively as BM, but it's still more than possible to pull aggro off your pet. I use Misdirect as often as I can, which usually helps for that pull. But if MD is down I usually find that after 1-2 shots I pull aggro, unless I autoshot the whole time. And yes, I do have growl on, and cower off, always. I find I have to FD a lot or spam intimidation just to get mobs off me, it's really a pain.

Out in front of Bouldercrag's Refuge in the Stormpeaks.. A never ending battle of Iron Dwarves and Elementals.. You can level pet in a couple of hours there, and have help from the friendlies while your at it.. Plus as you work that area.. It is a flight path of both Vyargosa (Rare) and the Time Lost Proto-Drake (Rare mount dropper).. All the enemy mobs drop Relic's Of Hodir.. And if your an Eng, the mechanicals can be De-Engineered for mats and such

I've levelled quite a few pets while skinning at the Argent Vanguard post just below Dalaran. I realized early on that if I didn't finish the quest line there, I would have an endless supply of leather (nerubian leather in good quantity, too) nearby.
The spiders drop greens, health and mana pots, and large quantities of cloth. A vendor in the camp will buy your trash and do repairs. There's a flight path here, too, but with Dalaran hovering virtually overhead, you probably won't need it. The only drawback is no mailbox, but again the proximity to Dalaran makes this pretty much a non-issue.
Most people have long since completed the quests at this hub, so I am phased out to a good number of the population and can farm... and level pets... largely uninterrupted.

Eew, Gorillas
Actually, I think I'm going to make my last pet a warp stalker...which should be much better at holding aggro than my other four pets (which are all ferocity. I tend to like Ferocity pets the best).

The quests in Argent Vanguard lead to the opening of the flightpath in Scourgeholme, and to Thaurissian on the airship, etc., and eventually branch into Ebonhold quests. I am exalted with Ebonhold, despite not having done these initial quests. I did do them on my alts, so I was able to experience the storyline, too.

No matter what the pet, I always level mine up in heroics and when I do dailies. Heroics go much faster and it only took a total of about 4 or 5 to get one pet 5 levels. I've yet to see anyone complain about it.
