Hi everyone,

I have been seriously considering making a hunter that has non-unique skinned pets. There are so many pets out there to tame and many are rarely seen due to the hunter rage of getting rare/unique pets. Do you have any opinions on what ones I should tame? My rules are as follows:

1) Non-unique skinned.
2) Rares with a common skin (ie Snarler) are okay.
3) Exotics okay - will just have to level the hunter first!
4) Not a huge fan of the diseased bears/wolves, but would be willing to give them a try.

As for hunter race, I'm still debating. It will probably be horde so I can play over on Nesingwary in the Petopians guild there -but I already have a goblin in that guild, and my main as you can see from my current signature is a blood elf. I also have an orc hunter alt in the same guild as my main haha! I'm not big on undead.

On the other hand, I have been promising Jessibelle that I will come try out Moonguard and play over there for awhile. I have a couple alliance hunter alts already made but I have not started playing any of them. I'm strongly leaning towards this just because it is different, and I started as Alliance. On my original realm I have a 62 Draenei hunter, and on my main's realm I have a human alt that is 21ish. I really like the human hunter idea, and that to me seems like it might fit as a compassionate character to tame non-rares.

Thoughts? Any opinions are valued and appreciated! Thanks!

The new frostsabers coming in 4.1 are absolutely stunning. I'm also a big fan of the red fox skin for some reason. Any warp stalker is really cool too.

nix, lrd condar, gosh-haldir are all rare pets with common skins. Some pets with common skins that look really good would be the lava spiders/scorpids and the black worms. And I just recently made a orc hunter on nesingwary, I have yet to ask for an invite however. I do love human hunters however as that is now my main. (Nelf -> HUman race change)

I suggest lava spiders as well, and Jungle Spiders.
Some of the moths can be really pretty even if common.
I find the typical, extremely common Tan Coyote skin to be very cute.
Lastly, two ridiculously common and unappreciated cats, the Tan Cougar and the Yellow Lion.

Undead Wolves are my favorite. =) and Regular Jormungars.

Pick a ravager, any ravager.

Takk The Leaper, Snarler, The Beast, Lupos, Death Flayer, Mist Howler

Sewer beast... or one of the WC look alikes. One of my fave croc skins. And I agree with Snarler or another black wolf -- I love that wolf skin.

Still a hardcore fan of Spot.

Actually, unless you're a worgen, Gosh-Haldir is a unique skinned rare.

And the Petopians Alliance side is semi-active if you wish to stay on Nesingwary, and I'm sure Jess would be more than willing to give your hunter a home on Moon Guard.

Personally like the dark colored foxes myself...

But definitely have to suggest Buru the Gorger. He is fun times.

I suggest a silver worg (Gorefang) or a black worg. I hardly ever see any of those, for some reason.

For kittehs, I would go with the cheetah spotted ones. You know, I can only think of ONE person with this cat... and that's me! lol. Poor Dishu. Of course, there's all the regular mobs with her skin in Badlands as well!

As far as a tank goes, I feel you can never go wrong with a beetle. Also, bears. I mean come on! They're all cuddly and need love too! Well, I wouldn't snuggle with one of the rabid/decaying bears unless I was on my undead hunter but that's just me!

Tallstriders! None of them is unique anymore, so you can choose the colour you like!
To be original, maybe the white ones from Mulgore-Barrens, never seen them as hunter pets!

I'm gonna go ahead an suggest a sporebat.

I tamed one recently, cause I chose them as my 5th PvP Non-Exotic Pet.

They look absolutely stunning next to a goblin hunter in the char selection and while leveling "Sponge" from 82 to 85 (did so during dailies), I fell absolutely in love with the little fella.

Their special is absolutely amazing too, as it is an area of effect cast increase debuff that can't be dispelled. The area is actually big enough to hit up to 3 target dummies in OG.

And their animations are beautiful. Really, it has become one of my all time favorites.

I have been honestly thinking about this guy for quite awhile! Thanks for the suggestion that reaffirms my thought on him. He seems so lonely . Also, #1 on my list: Snarler (he's just awesome and my favorite haha).

#2 on my list: Black Fox I highly agree with this!
I have Lord Kri on my main and am a big fan- but to be honest, I did not know that Buru the Gorger existed! I have only seen people with the brain bug from Thousand Needles. Thanks!

Snarler, Takk, The Beast, Lupos, and Mist Howler have all been pets of mine at one point or another. I actually really miss The Beast on my main, but I dropped him in favor of Chromaggus. Surprisingly, I have never actually looked for Death Flayer, so I will check him out.

Love wolves (can you tell from my current signature? Haha!). I actually find the black ones absolutely stunning- I have been worg swapping on an alt for awhile but the black worgs always stick out. I will plan to get one of these. Kitties are awesome, and I am still trying to pick one for sure. As for bears- Old Grizzlegut is definitely on my list!

Out of curiosity, have you decided upon a boar?

I'm a big fan of Grunter, but I have already done the camp/tame thing. I think I may get a Shadowmoon Valley boar for my goblin. If I make a worgen, I'll probably get something similar. Did you have a suggestion?
