It's that type of thread. The one I always dreaded having to make. It's the 'I can't believe some people, please bring chocolate and hugs D:' thread. It all started when the beautiful Loque'nahak and Gondria were added to game. I knew it'd be hard, and I knew I would be disappointed a few times but nothing could prepare me for what exactly happened.
I've had Loque killed during taming twice, found his corpse too many times to count and after having Gondria killed on my last tame tick was enough to make me quit. Hope was renewed when Cata came out, and I searched, found Loque being tamed and then a few days later I was able to start the tame. Unfortunately, an 85 rogue of the same faction had different plans and proceeded to kill my kitty and harass me for a few days until I just stopped logging on my hunter.
Well, it's a few months now, and my brother has taken up his own hunter reins and is out and about rare taming. He's given away King Krush three times, farmed 40 hours nonstop and when Loque spawned, again, he suffered my fate of same faction jerks and was also laughed at for being upset over pixels. To top this all off, King Krush just spawned maybe a few minuets ago, and while getting another hunter there, as the tame was about to begin, an 85 druid tagged and killed the mob, promtly ignoring both hunter.
So, after all this, I thought it was time to post a thread and hope to hear that other people, sadly, have shared my misfortune and would offer 'But I still got it, and it felt even better' stories... And big hugs! Anyways, nice to finally have my own post, even if it is a tad depressing xD

Aw, I'm sorry. Yeah, people are stupid sometimes.
All my best wishes to you, I hope you tame your pretty pets soon! WITHOUT some idiot running up and trying to ruin the tame. -.- (Or, even better, have some idiot run up! Even let them get an attack off! But have your tame finish just in time so they get NOTHING and *you* get to laugh for once!)

Mid tame getting ghostcrawler, another hunter came out of NOWHERE and started shooting at him, thank Jesus I had tagged him with more than a distracting shot and had hit him twice with an arcane instead, but yea 3 hours sitting in nothing is boring and was not going to let that happen. It felt amazing to get him and be like "ha you suck at stealing/killing things alt f4 and uninstall" to the other hunter.

If they ever decide to fix this whole tames-being-stolen issue, I'd be great if either that spell was cast that disallows a tame to be interrupted, or Tame Beast gave a huge amount of threat per sec (like, 30k-50k/sec). It sounds like you've had horrible luck. That many times in a row, griefers? Report them all, imo, and see if you can consider a server change. That's ridiculous.

I'd love to see the beast become immune for the duration of the tame, at the very least, to everyone but the hunter & his party. It's sickening that some people are just this mean.

What's even worse is that the game gets you to put so much stock into something--effort and emotion both--that others can and do ruin for a moment of their own amusement.

But: People are jerks, I do believe in karma, and everything I've wanted in WoW, I've stuck at and gotten--and so can you, and your brother too!

Aw hun...I know how it feels. My very first spirit beast I got was Loque'nahak and it was the most painful......he was killed twice from under me.

My sister had the same thing happen- Loque was stolen right from under her twice before she got him. I had the bad luck of simply never seeing him anywhere, and it was ~a year and a half before I finally found and tamed him- on an alt hunter I had just made a few weeks before, not even on my main. My main did get him eventually, but the searching and waiting were a drag for sure.

Keep trying, you'll get him. And if it's as bad as you say, then I totally agree on the server-transfer suggestion.

If on a PVP server with lots of jerks on same faction pulling that crap I would suggest build up nasty DK on opposite faction with full Vicious Gladiator gear and go get some!

Report them. That kind of behavior is not allowed as far as I know. Killing your tame might but sending you whispers or whatever and harassing you is another story.

I can't believe how rude people are. @___@ I've gotten extremely lucky with my rarespawn tames and have never had one ninja'd from me. *sends good luck vibes and hugs* Keep at it! <333 I bet those people would get upset at their precious purple-item pixels if soemthing happened to them! Our pixels just happen to kill things for us and look cute! :3

I've had Arc killed in front of me twice. Once by some jerk-off of a human pally and another time by a bot of my own faction. Oh how I pissed I was.


But I refused to give up and just gave a middle finger salute to everyone who /shoo'd, /slap'd, /spit'd or trolled on me while I sat there, staring at the hill he was going to spawn on and in the end I finally caught the beautiful celestial bear. Don't let them get to you, it's the only way they can really troll us to the extent to where it's emotional. They've found that words don't phase many people anymore.

I'm pretty sure nothing would stop jerks from griefing but please do tag before start taming.

Just wanna say how warm and fuzzy I feel right now with all this love and hope stories! I'm so glad all of you guys finally got your rare tames and it's with the most extreme happiness I can tell you all that me and my brother finally got our kitty! We were flying in opposite direction when my NPC scan totally threw me into a mind numbing stupor. I threw on my embersilk gown and punched him in the face while my bro flew over and watched with super happiness as the lil yellow ding swirl signaled how our hard work finally paid off!
Unfortunately, a night elf hunter swooped in and targeted the kitty sadly, we /comforted her but I know she has to feel so bad right now :c But! I'll have hope, that she too will have her hard work pay off! Thank you so much guys for being the best picker' up er's ever <3 And also for the chocolate! <3 you all so much right now

Its happened to me a few times too. King Krush killed mid tame twice. When i was camping for Loque, had a same faction hunter wisper and tell me he would kill Loque if he saw me taming him. While questing in TH, I just happened to fly over Sambas. I decided to tame him even though I wasn't really sure I liked him that much. A dwarf hunter comes along and tries to kill him while I'm taming. Luckily, I was at the end of the tame and he was unsuccessful. He tells me I just missed out on 3,000 gold and then proceeds to badmouth me about my crappy gear and anything else he can think of. Basically said that I didn't deserve the pet because I was only in blues and greens while he was epiced out and in a good raiding guild and I was a noob. Whatever. He even said some of these things in general chat. He ended up offering 1500 gold in general chat to anyone who would help him get Sambas and Karoma. Anyways the next day I am in TH once again, and happen upon Karoma. I did a /who and the same dwarf hunter is in the zone. I go and tame Karoma, then whisper the dwarf and tell him Karoma is up. He flies over, sees I have already tamed and calls me a jerk.

Usually I'm not a jerk like that and have given up tames to other hunters that come up on a beast I want. I have helped strangers camp rares. However, I really felt the dwarf was being a bigger jerk and pretty much deserved that. Plus my boyfriend was egging me on too. Haha.

This is unfortunate to happen to anyone, I dunno what to say as I'd only had this happen once, I was rather disappointed at the time, but I just came back the next day & got the pet I wanted.

All you can do is report them for their rudeness, & try, try again ... gl

Well, on the upshot, Ghostcrawler is unkillable so you get a good chuckle as some wouldbe griefer gets splattered across the landscape. I'd like it if all the tamable rares could do that. Gonna pounce on Sambas midtame? CAT SCRATCH FEVER. Feel like killing someone's Karoma? Wolf'd.
