Ohai thar.

It's been a semi-normal (sister-in-law, niece, and nephew are visiting after all) day for me, puttering around WoW, when my trucker BF gets some free time and asks to run a random regular with me on his priest. I ask the guild if anyone wants to come along, and with some interest we decide to bump it up to a heroic. We roll Deadmines--fun! We rock through the instance, picking up a few achievements for the BF, who hadn't been there on heroic before (he handled the adds on Foe Reaper amazingly well and netted us all Prototype Prodigy, too). Continued through the trash to the cannon...and as we traveled through the blasted door, I saw it. Albino Eyegouger.
That's when things got interesting.
With a hurried, "White one, don't kill it. MINE," to my guildmates, I charge ahead as they pull the first parrot. Skidding to a halt within range, I start to channel the ta--'You have too many pets.' Shit. I abandon Azrak the raptor, the only pet I can re-tame easily, but I'm at half health! I start channeling the tame again, but die before it can complete. My group pull the Eyegouger to Beaky's island, where they kill Beaky and hex the Eyegouger before urging me to run back. I didn't need to be told twice--I think it was the fastest Deadmines corpse run in recent memory. I rush back into range...but the tame fails due to the tank having aggro. My guildies move back to the walkway while I trap the Eyegouger, trying to come up with a way for both tank and healer to drop aggro. Tank bubbles--one down! The Eyegouger breaks the trap and...evade bugs? Suddenly my face is full of angry beak, claws, and yellow-white feathers! Oddly happy for such an occurance, I tame one of the birds I'd given up on seeing.
