I tried to log in today just because and they said my account had been locked due to "suspicious activity" and something about how I was logging in weird? I checked my e-mail and reset my password using the link. I had double checked to ensure it was from Blizzard but went ahead and went to the battle.net site and reset it once again. I really hope nothing happened. Nothing from my characters appears to be missing [they all got deleted last time...] and I'm still in my guilds. The irony? I had just ordered my authenticator... Ugh. Hopefully it gets here soon.

I don't understand how I could have gotten hacked [if that is what happened]. I'm hoping maybe the BF logged on as me for some reason and WoW didn't like that and locked me up... but I doubt it. I'm freaking out because it's maintenance Tuesday so I can't log in at all! D: I don't have much gold or anything but I'd be mad if it was gone. >__>;;

b l e h h. Cross your fingers for me. I didn't respond to any fishy e-mails, click any scary links, etc so I'm not sure what's going on.

Someone most likely attempted to hack you, but got busted. If nothing's lost, then no worries ^^

I like to think the authenticator works by the core hound pup scaring hackers away. I mean... he's kind of scary... in an adorable way...

i fell for ya ive had that happen i got the key and havent had any trouble sience i got it.

I want an authenticator too, but I don't know if they ship to europe.. I don't want in on my phone, I want it material, like the think I use to sign on my bank with xD

Just as a precaution never use the link in an email no matter where it's from. Just go directly to the site. Also scan your computer for any virus' as you might have a keylogger.

At least it's not as bad as one of my friends. Her account got hacked the very day her authenticator arrived. She went to add it and found someone was actually on her account right there stealing her stuff. X) I think the most he got off with was like... 200g or something.

Have you logged in from a different computer by any chance?

Blizzard's somewhat recently made it so that if your account is logged in from an alternate location from the norm, they'll freeze it for your safety until you can confirm that it's really you. I've had this happen when I log in on my laptop instead of my PC, so I just have to go and quickly change my password. A minor annoyance, but I'd rather they do that then have someone in my account. Even though I have an authenticator it's still a nice precaution.

I think this is what happened after posting on the official forums and talking to my BF. What happened was last night I switched from the secured to unsecured network at our school because of some serious lag. That may have made me get a new IP address which triggered the lock-down. Annoying but at least I know they're looking out for me, right? I'm still getting the authenticator, though, just in case. I've been hacked before and it was NOT fun.

EDIT: I did do a full malware/virus scan just in case and they were clean. I used Malwarebytes' Anti Malware and did a long scan with Avast Antivirus [the kind that runs after a restart and takes all night @__@]

Well, that's good news. Reminds me of the time we went to Europe for a two week trip, and it was either my father's or my grandfather's credit card that got frozen before we even made it out of the airport on day 1. Security measures can be a real PITA, despite the protection they afford.

I'm in Finland and it was shipped here just fine, so I don't see a reason why it wouldn't reach you. ^^ Just make sure to order it from the EU store and it should be ok.

yea i got "locked" for the same reason.. im rather worried

Luckily they double checked and said they made a mistake.
