Potential reason for glitched bird animations?

I was in WoW Model Viewer just now perusing some of the creatures, and I noticed something peculiar about the Arctic Condor.
Most of us are aware that these birds in game have a glitch where they do not fly properly after taming, but instead remain hovering in their idle position while moving.
I found that, for some reason, this model does not have a 'Run' listed in the animation menu. Perhaps this is the culprit behind their glitch? Most creatures have a Run animation, even if they're flying animals then the run is the flying one. If this model is missing that then maybe the game has nothing to use when it's running beside us, hence the stationary pose?
I'm not sure how this accounts to the other glitched birds, since I know some types glitch and others don't. But...I thought I'd point it out in any case.
EDIT: I think I may be on to something.
Remember how some of the Black Crow models glitched and some didn't? I checked in WMV. There are two separate entries for that model.
There is one listing under stormcrow that DOES have a Run animation. But, there is a second one under the heading of stormcrowdruid that does NOT have a Run animation.

that is really odd... im nowhere near any northrend-skin vultures but i own one of the mini jousting vultures (they have a little beanie person on their back with a polearm the size of a toothpick its sooooo cute), i wanna try that out and see if the little guy has any trouble.. it is the same model after all, just a different method of owning him -shrug-
Edit: Your right, my mini jouster flies in his idle position D:

Very clever. I'll take a look for myself tomorrow (not that I don't trust what you're saying; I'm just curious)

Good catch! Is there another animation that could sub. for the run one? If so it'd be an easy fix to copy it over. Otherwise... might take a while. If the stormcrow one exists on one model but not the other at least they should be fixed easily.

The models I checked (lightbrowneagle and stormcrowdruid) have a sprint animation that looks the same as the run animation. (/crossfingers for quick fix?)

That reminds me... Daggercap Hawks from Howling Fjord have the same problem. They fly in an idle position. They are the black stormcrows-- possibly under the graphic stormcrowdruid and it drives me nuuuuuuuuuuuts seeing them around the place... They just need to be switched to the regular stormcrow model since its the same model, just that one has a run animation while the other doesnt :3

Well, I've been in contact with Noah and it sounds like good news for those of you who have been waiting for this flight glitch to be fixed.
It seems that the Stand animation is indeed the default fallback for a unit to use when it's unable to play an animation it's supposed to. Without these birds having Run as an option, the game just tells them to use Stand, the idle hovering we see after taming.
Don't assume this is something that will be corrected immediately or anything, there's no promises there, but at least it has been looked at and sounds like a relatively easy fix when they have a chance to do so. ^^
Hooray, flight animation mystery solved!
