Though now I'm thinking what a female voidwalker, imp, and felguard would look like. I think you could easily get away with only having one "gender" on the felpuppy, tho I suppose you could just make a different (but related) model and call it a felhunter girl. Hmmmm.

*Alex being the namesake character of one of my webcomics, and an incubus besides. And a hot longhaired wiry not-quite girly-man, but you know how that goes. Alex (sans wings), warning for shirtless + provocative gesture.

Not gonna lie...I think this is kind of silly, other than maybe getting an incubus. But the rest of the demons? They're neither male nor female for the most part (the voice overs don't necessarily mean anything), especially voidwalkers. Also, will they revamp the older demons as well or are the "new" demons just going to be reused skins?

And if the art department team is this bored and looking for something to do, why not update the player character models like they've said they want to do?

I'm feeling a little meh by this.

Edit: It just occurred to me that my tired induced brain posted this as if it's on the top of their priorities when it necessarily isn't and that it's just something they're planning. I still feel a little meh about it as it'd be nice to see the older player models get a few polygons added, but hurray for extra customization I guess.

Well to be fair, they've said before that they're looking at doing that too. It's a much trickier proposition since it's not "just a pet" (I remember Succubus v1 -> Succubus 2.0 transition, hooooo-ee). I -think- this is the first time they've confirmed that the warlock pets are somewhere on the list too, though.

Maybe they'll lower the price of the demon renaming at the same time... I spent like 2k gold on my worgen's pets and still haven't found a name I like :\

I have a few suggestions for what I'd like to see for gendered warlock pets.

Female Imp: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=19136#screenshots:id=31405 (for some reason the "horns" above the eyes look like really long eyelashes to me, and the extra horns on the head look more like a very wily feminine coif than anything)

Female Voidwalker: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=18870#screenshots:id=16523 (preferrably without the large structure in the back, but keeping the draped cloak and lanterns)

Female Felguard: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=18391#screenshots:id=18364 (seriously cool)

Male Succubus (Incubus, technically): http://www.wowhead.com/npc=25486#screenshots:id=74612 (a horned male blood elf model with bat wings instead of the black feathered wings of the Felblood Elves from Outland/Sunwell Plateau would look amazing.) Edited to add: Any Satyr model would work really well too, just add wings to a Satyr model. They have the tails and horns and goat legs already in place.

Anyways, I doubt there would be any difference with fehunters, and I don't think that voidwalkers really have a gender in the first place. Imps would probably just get larger breasts plus the typical armor bra, and maybe different earrings. Felguard would probably get boobs + armor bra as well, less broad shoulders, and no muscle tone. As for what an incubus would look like... I have no idea; there are so many different winged male demon models already in WoW. Just expect it to be on steroids.

About time! Even if the incubus is ugly as heck, I'd rather have the choice than being forced to take a succubus (and having to listen to her slap her tush). My lock has summoned her succubus twice, ever - once to see what her name was, and another time to recheck her name when all the lock pets names got jumbled during Shattering/start of Cata.

Yes, Xella, I understand that. I just still feel that this change is rather meh. Most of the demons are genderless and we as players spend far more time looking at our models over our pets. I know the player models is a much larger task and they're probably saving it for next xpac, however, there's graphical glitches in game that would still be nice for them to fix so I hope these new pets get a lower priority as my DK's deathcharger's reins shouldn't stick 5 feet in front of its nose.

More customization is always a good thing, I just feel it could be used in better areas is all. But supposedly warlocks have been clambering for this for years so kudos to them I guess.

It's understandable you feel that way. I just ask that you recognize I added the caveat that we don't have a set time frame for doing this -- it's just something our artists are excited about doing. With that said, also recognize that artists don't balance classes, nor will the class balance team be designing new gender models for your demons.

If you ask me, he's saying that he merely confirmed that gender options for all warlock demons are somewhere on their to-do list. The timeframe of 'Soon' wasn't even given, after all.
