Its called "Archaeology: I ThinkYou Guys Missed Something" and here's what it says:

"I feel you guys missed something quite obvious when we could make a Proto-Drake Skeleton........seriously why isn't this an epic mount? Please make it a mount, you already have the skeleton and animations for Proto-Drakes and Archaeology has 3, count them 3, mounts and that's it (2 are on the ground btw). Sure we are getting some more toys next patch and an epic shield next patch but lets face it another flying mount that doesn't cost 30k, one that will be uber cool looking that I'm sure no one could say no to (free flying mount how can you say no?) So come on Devs make it happen and let the Fossil hunting begin "

Anyone care to sign? You have to agree an undead Proto-Drake would look super cool

That does sound rather cool I assume they'd have to make a skeletal proto from scratch though? Can you please add a link from here to your post?

Sure http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2369923192 and no they don't have to make one from scratch, as animator I know that they already have all the mount animations (idle movements, flying, walking, running, /mountspecial animation), the skeleton (think of that literally) they use that from the regular Proto-Drake mounts, all they need to do is put a new skin on it. Like the Frostbrood drakes, exactly like the normal drakes (red, blue, azure, etc) just a different skin on it.

Actually no , it was late at night (VERY late) when I clicked on that post and I saw the wall of text and was like ".......................words..................." then went to MMO-Champion and looked at fan art, till Lord Marrowgar pounced on me and I figured it was time for bed.

Edit: going to bed now, Lord Marrowgar won't stop hitting my mouse hand...I need to post again, he got HUGE he weighs like 10LB (my dog weighs 15LB and he's not much lighter) he's a big ol fat tabby, not really fat though.

I always thought (before Icebound/Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquishers were revealed) the Glory of the Icecrown Raider rewards would end up being skeletal proto-drakes, since every other PvE Glory reward to that point had been the protos, and ended up sketching up something to the same point. It surprised me that they didn't go that route, though I suppose now with Archaeology, it opens the gate for 'em to come back (though probably without the shredded flesh/muscle and scourgey-stomach glow I was originally imagining for the GotICR mounts).

Though, without those stretchy fleshy bits, it'd look a bit strange trying to fly. I mean even with them it looks weird but I think it if was pure skeleton a la the raptor skeleton mount, it'd be too much (at least for my own suspension of disbelief).

It'd be great, but I suspect it requires more work than just a new skin. To my knowledge no skeletal npc in the game has been done by simply placing a new skin on a fleshy model. They use the same animation skeleton, sure, but the Chillmaw style drakes you mentioned use a different model to live drakes. I think this guy would need an entirely new model. Still, I'd love to see it.

Well Xella it would look better than the DK mount and that has no flesh on its wings.
