So during my camp for the elusive Aeonaxx, I occasionally check the cave for Jadefang. I didn't have the daily, nor the motivation to leave my campfest to unlock it >_< I figured, "I'll worry about it when I see him!"
I worried about it 5 different times.. Each time.. I watched it die ;_;!!
I didn't learn my lesson..and didn't unlock the daily lol

So I'm hanging out waiting for Mr. Dragon-Of-The-Never-Spawning and decided to go check on Mr. Jadefang. There he is!! Oh boy, let's see what I can do this time. I was determined to sit by the ledge and wait til someone came along with the bomb >;O!!!
Unfortunately... that day was not the day for the bomb daily! >_< I asked and asked as politely as I could, offered to tip! No takers.. no daily. Then it occurs to me, one of my friends has a priest.. A NIGHT ELF!
He flies out to the cave, dies by the ledge and flies through the cave like the pro he is. He rezzes up and waits for me to do my part. It seemed like it took forever for the stone worm to kill me! >_>

Finally dead and rezzed on the ledge, I waste no time getting over to my beloved Jadefang - the very last Cataclysm rare I needed! Trap, tamey-tamey, easy stuff. Now I am the proud owner of what I think is going to be the GREATEST tank pet of all time. OF ALL TIME!!

I was surprised when I saw his buff! I never really read up on their abilities before.

His buff is essentially that of a Paladin's Blessing of Kings or a Druid's Mark of the Wild.

Ive found Jadefang the best pet to solo old heroics with and shes absolutely faaaaaabulous if you dont mind the SQUEEE SQUEEEE XD I think the squeees are cute :3

Congrats on the SECOND best Tank-Pet in-game. Terrorpene's Flaming Shell takes this one! (Due to entirely the Abilities they have, Shales have a MoTW/Kings buff which is nice, however, Turtles with their Shield Wall make effective boss tanks, my Terrorpene tanks Vanndar from AV and High Commander from Isle with ease, the Shield Wall is perfect for when you initially pull so he doesn't get insta-gibbed.)

THO: For Solo Tanking for Elites and old content Heroics, the MoTW would be prime for the overall stat increase.

Anywho! Jadefang is one badass looking Shale Spidey! I don't regret ever taming him! All you gotta do now is camp him again for a kill, get the non combat pet so your Jadefang Buddy can have a Buddy of his own, I did! I also farmed up all the Raptor Hatchling Eggs this morning so my King Krush now has a Buddy too!

Yes!! I can't wait to have the wee spider following him around -^_^-!!

I came across him the other day while showing another player where I found and mounted Aeonaxx. I flew up just on a hanuch he might be up and sure thing he was. I don't have the daily quest though and didn't know you needed it in order to get up there. Though the nightelf druid trick is nice...I am Horde. ;-;

The squees are indeed awesome. I adore 'em. THat said, you can still have someone MD her to the lip at the edge, shoot her, take aggro and tame.

What I did for a Hordie:

1) Blow self up onto ledge. Novi is a Draenei.
2) Put my pet on the edge where the other hunter could LoS.
3) MD'd Jade (GENTLY) to pet.
4) The other hunter shot Jadefang to take aggro. While distracting was up, I dismissed pet and FD'd.
5) Other hunter tames! Huzzah!

So as I read this your saying you don't need quest for Jadefang to spawn? I just let a worm kill me and reterve my body in the cave. No Jadefang though so I have been waiting for a spawn.

Only if your a night elf, im guessing its because of their natural speed boost. What im wondering though is if we have already included the 'The Quick and the Dead' guild perk to this, it increases movement speed by 100% when dead... would be interesting to check out if its not applied :3

Jadefang respawns regardless if you can get up the ledge. That said, it can be a pain in the hoof if you're not an engineer, suicidal night elf or have the daily.
