This morning (12:45Pacific time, if it matters to anyone who is hunting for Madexx, around the 54.18 coordinates) on my way to do the daily with the hammers and pygmies, I flew over the area where Madexx spawns. Now, mind you, I'm not really a bug person, and have never had a scorpid for more than a few hours, way back when you needed to tame other animals to get new spells for your pet. No real reason-- I know spiders give me the willies, but scorpids just never did it for me.

But as I flew over, I looked down and saw this HUGE... no, really, amazingly HUGE scorpid standing there in the sand, waving their front claws idly as if waving to passers-by. I landed, wanting to know if I'd lost my mind, if it was a glitch, or if the darn thing WAS that big, and there was red madexx waving hello to me.

And for some reason, this really amused the heck out of me. I dismissed my current pet, dropped an ice trap and clicked to tame it. Madexx looked over, waved one more time and walked calmly into the trap until he was tamed. I've SEEN pictures-- heck, I'd thought that, if anything, the blue one was the nice one... but in person? this nice red scorpid who waved so happily to me flying by seems to fit right in with the rest of my pets.

After watching him, he was dubbed Rhoomba -- sorry, from the front, that;'s what he looks like. One big red, happy vacuum LOL

Never thought I'd have one, but glad I flew over his afternoon!

Ive tamed the black and green madexx ...... waiting on the blue and red..... grats on ur tame and im happy to hear about ur new rhoomba =p

best part is i havent seen another hunter on my server with him, so people are killing him =(

I have all madexxes in my now because of that limited stable ;p I also always get fascinated by his big and awsome model. Too bad he is so tiny when tamed I enjoy seeing him big so much that I just when randomly bored fly over there looking for him.

So you found him around 1:45am server? Just keepin track for my guild records. ;3

Cerele-- I'm sure that your Madexx will be there for you soon; he or she is just waiting for that perfect moment to arrive.

Mmjauaww -- I know; I was shocked at how small he got... I think that was the thing that made me land in front of him-- the whole "Geeminy; look at the HUGE arse scorpid!"

I am pretty excited to find Madexx. I am really eager to see how big he is since everyone seems to point that out. xD I really want the blue one, but if I find any color, I will tame it until I get the blue one.

Kasstra- Trust me, when you fly over him, Madexx is spookily HUGE. And I will admit to deciding that while I love and will not trade off my current Rhoomba, I'd love a blue one as well. Good luck on your hunt for yours!

Yeah Madexx is a big boy. Hard to miss.

You will NOT miss him if you fly over. He's like, out of those old B horror movies huge.

I took this screenshot when I was in the Cataclysm Beta and stumbled upon the Brown Madexx.



He's even more formidable in person, the angle of this picture doesn't quite convey the sizing, but he's just enormous and impossible to mistake for any other scorpid in the area. One of the regular scorpid mobs would probably only be the size of his claw.

I can post a few caps of his giant Popsicle self.

when i saw my red madexx, i guess i was flying higher then i thought i was but he was pretty tiny, even still though when i landed he still seemed small to me, i imagined him to be absolutely enormous and stand out like terrorpene in his lava pools... took me a few minutes to find where he was wandering even with _NPCScan lol, grats on the tame! Red madexx is quite gorgeous, im still thinking of blue (my original desired color) but im too busy lvling an alt atm, im sick of camping

I love my madexx on both my hunters. Xephyr finally got the color she was looking for (green). Bitka is still on the hunt, but is currently going in the bg's with her black.

... you know, with all these pictures, now I really NEED to stalk and tame a blue Madexx to go with my red one...
