This is Foxy - Make that Trixie
She has been sleeping in my backyard for about a week and a half now and is a stray. Her fur is matted and she has burrs and ticks(well had I picked them off and cut them out) on her. She very obviously has been someones pet. Well she was untrusting until yesterday when I fed her and she came up to me and laid her head on my knee. Well shes amazing and so cute and sweet. She waves her two front paws in the air when she wants fed and when she wants your attention she very politely taps your knee or foot with her paw. I've had nobody come forward to claim her so I set about getting her a home. If not with 1 of 2 families I know then she will stay with me. She bounds to me now and when she see's me her eyes light up. I've never had an animal be so thankful to me for plucking it from death's grasp. I have two dogs and 3 cats all ready so taking her would be a challenge but she came to me for a reason and its my job to protect her and make sure shes happy. I love her all ready and she prances alongside me so I've been calling her Lady Foxy

- Anywho just thought I would share, isnt she a beauty?

Indeed and I think she knows. She goes to the vet tomorrow but we've agreed if she has a microchip she will go to her original owners as much as it breaks my heart.

D: *secretly hopes she doesnt have a chip but also... for the sake of future pets they might have to ensure their saftey, hopes she does* kinda a catch 22 there..

Sorry for the double post but I have news! She went to the vet and had no microchip, however they think she was at some point in time perhaps someones pet. Shes perfectly potty trained which amazes me and REALLY smart! She got all her vaccines and they shaved a few burrs I couldnt cut out off of her. She was really well mannered and obediant and let them give her a check up. They said she has had a sore behind her ear which is healing and a minor skin condition and she is malnourished only weighing 29 pounds when she should weigh more for her size. The good news is that the "Blue" dog-food were giving her is very healthy and is giving her plenty of calories and has all ready helped her skin in just two days! They said that she should be shaved down completely and let the fur regrow to give her skin the air it needs to heal so she has a grooming appointment for Monday. We have to wait for all her vaccines to kick in before she can go; at this time she is still chilling in the garage as she has just had a flea treatment and has to be away from the other dogs for two day until she can get a bath. She was heartworm negative and has no parasites although she wasnt spaid(its a maricle she hasnt had pups) and that'll have to be done. Friday she gets her bath and her de-skunking as yes she was sprayed

Silly pup! But its kind of sad they gave us a new puppy kit for her and in it came a squeaky tennis ball- I am having to teach her how to play because it seems her previous owners didnt play with her. Shes so content to curl up in your lap though and just lay there and cuddle its crazy - she really thinks shes a cat

But her estimated age is about 4 years - the good news for her is that she now has a permanent home and she's all ready too spoiled for words. Yay Trixie!

Pardon me for bumping, but it's wonderful that you took her in and are teaching her how to be a loved pet again. Short lifespan or no, she seems like a beautiful dog, inside and out.

Well ty

She really is. She'd never had a dog biscuit before when I gave her one

- I had to break it into tiny pieces and let him nibble them haha. On the semi sad side we think she was abused because if you drop your hand down to pet her she shakes and shivers something awful. She blinks her eyes and flinches while showing you her belly like shes afraid you'll hit her.. She may have had a home before us but..they didnt take care of her at all.

wow its so wonderufl you took her in. she is quite a beauty! I am glad she seems to be in good health for the most part

yeah it sounds like she might have, i always wonder about my newest dog chisum cause if anyone moves their hands to fast be it they are just talking or move them kinda fast to pet him, he freaks out

all you can do is work with her, and since she seems to be smart and very loveing of you, thats a bonus to make it easier to show her you wont do that

hope we get to see pictures of her after the grooming, and btw that name its just fits her so well

I'll take some pictures of her later and try to get her in her fox pose! Her tails fluffy and her body is shaved so if she puts it in front of her nose.. OMG! /dies of cuteness

Shes so photogenic loves her picture taken.. I'm still trying to teach her what playing is haha.. She understands its a ball and I throw it..but she seems to think playing with it means jumping around it in circles and barking at it while stamping her feet haha.
