Did anyone else notice the new sound when you press Play in the launch screen? It's no longer the BOOOOOOOOM that we all have grown to love (or in some cases hate) but now it's just a "thud". It doesn't wake you up or make you fall backwards in your chair. RIP BOOOOOOM.

On topic of annoying noises....

I miss the good old WotLK frost wyrm. While I didn't play with sound--(I hate headphones. Like, iPod headphones are okay for music listening, but I can't tolerate them for gaming. It kills my sense of hearing and makes me nervous.)--I do admit I love playing the racing game with the frost wyrm.

Also, Sindy says hi. And she also says, ahem...."Watch as your pathetic magic beeeeetrraaaaays yoooooou."

As far as annoying "THUD"s go, I'm becoming pissed off with my harakiss' THUD effect every 30 seconds. UGH! But no, I hadn't even noticed the new sound. Huh, weird.

Yes, so happy they changed that! xD

You also get the Dungeon Pop sound when a patch finishes downloading.

Also, I have the flaming boar and he now make a roasty fire sound

It's the same sound you hear when capping a flag in PvP. I didn't mind the old 'boom' except for the times when some launcher update would set the volume on it to 'gawdawful loud' for a while.

I'm going to be the unusual one and say that I miss the Boom of the startup screen. The thud is fine, but I liked the boom.

I had to get rid of my harakiss as I could not take that noise that she made. It drove me crazy.

I am also happy to see it changed. I don't need the entire apartment complex to know I am getting my WoW on, though a part of me will miss my girlfriend going "BAM! nerd time" lol

While we're on the topic of sounds - my Wintersaber cub makes a very loud yawn-slobber noise like his bigger cousins. xP

And I've noticed my kitty makes different noises when he uses claw - there's the default swipe-y noise, and then a...'squishier' sounding one I guess. It's kinda gross sounding hearing it over and over. They might have always been there and I just never noticed, idk.

oh good so im not the only one! I thought i may have been going crazy. i love Kerrigan (AKA Buru) but the sudden scilence and then a big "thwump!" every few seconds sure gets annoying.

I haven't even noticed it changed.
But what I don't miss is the old Wrath login screen.. Man that roar was beyond annoying. lol

Yesss I'm so happy without the boom sound! I wouldn't have minded it as much if it wasn't about three times as loud as everything else on my computer (I find it silly to have to turn down master volume for something that shouldn't be that loud in the first place argh).

So yes. Happy~ RIP Boom.

Oh jeez, I hated the Wrath login. It was always a race to see whether I could enter my password and authenticator code before Sindragosa came down and roared. I know it's weird, but I'd kind of like to be able to go back to the old vanilla login screen with the dark portal on it.

Really really happy with this change, the old one gave me a heart attack every time xD Goes to show what my memory's like, eh?

I actually kinda liked the Boom, but then again my computer has very very quiet sound (too quiet! Ach!) and it was nice to actually hear something for once :P
Sometimes I waited for the dragon to roar too cause I thought it was neat.
