Would've put this in the PTR forum but I guess I'm not cool enough to get a button. Anyway, this showed up in the new firelands preview. Don't know if it's tamable or not (it's raid trash so it probably hits like a train full of trucks anyway) but hey. It sure is shiny, innit...

You know, I have ALWAYS wished that the fire spiders in Searing Gorge and whatnot actually looked like they were on fire. They had these 'lava patches' but there wasn't any glow attached to them so they just looked painted on or something. Kind of sad really.

Do want one of those for a pet. /grabby hands

Please move this topic to where ever it belongs. People have been talking about the spiders in Fire Land and I found a picture of them for anyone who wants to know what they look like. They use the black widow skin (remodeled) and their skeleton, so it a chance they might be tamable.

I tend to take the "if I'm pessimistic, I might get positively surprised" approach to things, so I'm gonna go ahead and point out that they look elemental. Doesn't mean anything, of course *eyes shale spiders* but I'd rather get a positive surprise than get my hopes crushed.

My initial reaction was 'no way will this be tamable', but then I considered bone spiders, and how they look like they ought to be considered Undead as opposed to Beasts...

Exhibit B: Bone Spiders. If I were to see them in a preview, I would assume them to be Undead, and therefore untamable.

Its like... terrorpene met jadefang and it attracted all of terrorpenes good traits (dun mind me its late lol, just smile n nod, its what i always do XDD)

if this is tameable it will be the one spider i will actually perhaps use rather then collect dust or get abandoned-- maybe, i need to see it in-game in its environment

I see no reason why this wouldn't be tameable. ^^

Ooh! *squints* That definitely looks like a Madexx model to me. I'm like 99.9% sure. Hmm, wonder which colour they'll be using there, or if we might see a brand new one. Black seems like a good candidate to fit with the colour scheme.

Looks Madexx-y to me too...black maybe? Given the direction, possibly a pet charging to battle.

I'm now certain that it is indeed a Madexx model.

Forgive the messy composition of this collage, but I quickly went into WoW Model Viewer to take some screenshots of the two scorpid models.

Comparing them to an enlarged picture of the scorpid in that image, it's easy to differentiate the unique shape of the Madexx-style tail. The curl on the stinger, the sharp parts spiking out at each segment, and the overall shape of the body. Even from a tiny silhouette it's clear that it's the Madexx/Horde model.

Bleh, JPEG format made this even crappier looking, but hopefully it's still discernible. EDIT: Redid the image for better quality since it was bugging me. xD

Good forensics work, Veph! Now all they need to do is change the rusty tips to flaming patches and it'd be perfect

It looks elemental to me, I mean the abdomen and such look like metal and the legs look like lava. Like Deathwing if he were a spider or something o.o

Edit: Actually, now I'm thinking it -is- the black version, just because the stinger gets a bit brighter and sort of matches the red rock background, then turns dark at the tip, like black->red->blue. Of course, I could be seeing things.
