Unloved pet family love thread!

So why am I creating a love thread?
Im not sure myself but I would look to spread the love for unloved pet familys I guess
not stuff like sporebats (Theres soo many lovers on petopia...of course no offence to anyone who is this is a love thread for the 'unpopular' pets)

So Familys like gorillas
Bats
Moneys
Neither rays
moths

The pets that are hardly mentioned, I have a neither ray and a monkey myself and I absolutely love them
Any love for pets you guys have that no one else seems to have

I've always wanted to like the Bats more than I do. Bats are one of my favourite real life animals, but I have a hard time getting over the glaringly bad models in game. I do have bats on a few alt hunters, and I like them there, but I can't seem to bond with one enough to keep one on Veph. I'm hoping they get a revamp or some new skins in the future.

I love Nether Rays! :D I have a purple one named Vorpal who I'm very attached to. ^^

I do like Moths, they've just never quite made it as a permanent member of my stables.

Gorillas and Monkeys, however, are the only two families I don't like at all. Not a fan of humanoid/primate creatures as pets.

i love warp stalkers.. ive seen 1 other hunter on my server with one, i enjoy gorillas for the counter spell, i just think moths need to be cunning, and i used monkeys when there blind was a stun.... ohh sooooo needed that 10 second stun lock
i just dont like nether rays, they dont "smart cast" their counterspell

I do wish Moths and Nether Rays would swap talent trees...Nether Rays look the part of a ferocity pet far more than a Moth. x)

Warp Stalkers are very much loved, Cer. They're one of the top Tenacity pets people get usually. It was the PvP pet back in Wrath.

Bats, how I love thee. <3

I love my moth Atlas(previously known as Atramedes, lol). :) He tanked at least two bosses in a fail PuG for me and kept everyone from being chewed on while being adorable at the same time. I went to get him before his skin changed from brown to gray, and I think the run into the Draenei starter area made me like him that much more. There aren't a lot of pets I'd be willing to die for, and he was one of the first pets I chain-ran dungeons to level to 85. xP He doesn't seem to smart-cast his interrupt like everyone says, though...

Bats - I just can't get over the holes in the wings and the iffy textures. I'm a snob, I know. Monkeys are cute, but I don't really have a use for one - and gorillas I'm not really a fan of either. I don't think I've ever owned one.

I remember when the Aether Rays were untameable - made me hugely sad, since when I did my Skyguard dailies that was the ray they gave you as a taxi out to Blade's Edge and I really loved the colors. I managed to go back out there to tame my purple felboar, but never did get my pet ray...I'm very fond of them, though, they're lovely pets with quite a charming smile. ;P

And re: moths as ferocity: I LOVE IT. Don't change it. D: Atlas will always be my rabid, bloodthirsty killer moth.

Nonono! I don't like Nether Rays, but I LOVE the moths, and I just couldn't stand losing the self-sufficiency a ferocity pet offers through bloodthirsty! They're fine the way they are!

As for me? Sporebats. Sporebats so fucking much.

I love nether rays. The red ray needs more love <3

I had one called Bloodwraith, but my stables rotate far too much

I absolutely love bats, nether rays, and moths. Though I don't have any on Toph, Rhilla has a purple nether ray (Count Ungula to be more specific) named Wraith and I absolutely adore him. My former main, Zerai, has Blind Hunter (Wynne) and a vampiric duskbat (Aislinn) who are always in her active stable. Shuurai has a red moth named Haze that I'm pretty fond of, and who I need to start leveling again.

I'm neutral when it comes to gorillas. I tried using one, and while I didn't mind the animations and sounds, PetEmote made me realize that gorillas just aren't for me. Monkeys and sporebats I'm not fond of at all.

Warp stalkers and tallstriders for myself. I rarely see any of them used, which saddens me since I've been a big fan of both families for a long time.

(Though I still do miss the old Warp move. Man...)

Yeah, gorillas and monkeys seem to be really unpopular. I suspect it's the constant butt-scratching.

Personally, I just don't see myself using monkeys at all, but I love my gorilla, Baeloc. He just hoots with joy every time he gets the chance to so rudely interrupt someone with a well-timed pummeling; such a bully! Gorillas may have huge beer bellies, but that just makes them even harder to budge. I think it helps that he's bigger than Cialbi, too; Baeloc is his big hairy bodyguard.

I actually have a hunter, Tanzi, who is just for unloved pets. I call it Tanzi's Home For Unwanted Pets. ;)

I like tallstriders. Not massively, but I'd use one often if given a good color (Lost Toranche)

Sporebats... I just can't fins a good skin of, Nether-rays I also enjoy, but for some reason I don't have one. :|

Gorilllas/monkies: I've never used a gorilla, I do plan to grab one and see if it's worth the hunt for that rare white one. Monkies... I hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.

And I have no idea why.

Ooh, Tallstriders. Yes, they seem to be under-represented as a whole, but Kevin's one of my absolute favourite pets. ^_^

This FAMILY isn't underloved, but the "sub-family" of it is, Worms, not Jormongars, the regular ones, they are almost non-existant as hunterpets on my realm, and I was REALLY pissed when their burrow attack didn't animate...

But anyway, I prefer them to jormangars, but hate not having a functioning burrow attack.

Due to the "best" DPS pet being the one that provides a buff that your group/raid doesn't have, I (in theory) will be able to work with some cool but unloved families, like Ravagers, Sporebats, Hyenas, and Carrion Birds.

Did someone say....BATS?

I dare you to not go out and tame one after that.

On a serious note, even though I don't use him often, I have a Spore Bat and I'd never abandon it. It's so obscure that I love it, kinda like the two headed cyclops goat head that obviously got manufactured by a sadistic and bored taxidermist.

Aquaregia (would) approves of this...

...if he weren't presently distracted by something shiny.

As you can see, I find them to be very expressive creatures in their own quirky way; definitely worthwhile pets. You're also right in how underrepresented they are.

Hm...I'm really not sure why I can't stand monkeys or gorillas. I don't like them in real life really, I think it's because I'm not fond of humanity in general, and since they're 99.8% the same as us, that's my reasoning *laughs*

All joking aside, apart from being tenacity and thusly not that great for raiding, warp stalkers have always been my favourite pet. Back when there were only 2 skins, I had both, I've had Gezzarak (Xena) since she was made tameable the first time, and once my baby hunters are big enough, I'd love to have a legion of them. =3 They're just so...reptilian! And they look a little like wingless dragons to me, which is why I love them even more =)

I love the Moth animation, it's all like 'swish swish swish' <3

I'm part of the Bat Conservation Trust here in London, and they are just the most gorgeous creatures, but they really need a revamp in game for me to consider having them as a pet. =) The fangs on a Nether Ray I'm not fond of...I can't place why I don't really like them =s

And, of course, I've already proclaimed my love for the worms. Yes, Jormungers are lovely and fluffeh, but their faces are just awful! Would pick my sleek Neema over a Jormunger anyday <3

Also SPOREBATS. I love how much recognition they get on these forums. I mean, I thought I was the only one on my entire server that had one, since I've NEVER seen another hunter with one. Andromeda was one of the first pets I picked up come the 25-SS change.

EDIT: Always been a fan of Tallstriders and have had a few, but other pets have always seemed to be more appealing. =s Might be because of the move...Still, here's a pic of me and Quesse way back when. =3
