First time I've EVER seen him in the wild, I swear my heart skipped a beat when my NPCscan went off and this is how I find him. So...what's his rough spawn time?

Play late at night. Because hes kinda a smallish beast and the area of shalozar is so full of features alot of people who dont have NPC scan just fly by him. I once hunted krush for 6 hours. Loques was there when I started and still there when I left

Just wondering, how do server restarts effect spawn times? 'Cos it looks like the euro servers are being restarted sometime in the early hours tomorrow. Do all rares get reset too?

That is a question with a HUGELY debated answer, and the short version is,

nobody knows.

There was a big thing recently with Poseidus--the US realms got an extra restart, which *did* reset his spawn timer, meaning that ONLY EU realms got Poseidus kills within that first week of 4.1 release. There's a lot of speculation that some rares are reset and some aren't, but the "aren't" school of thought often relies on seeing Aeonaxx or TLPD within a few hours of restart, which isn't reliable (as techically their spawn timer IS only 6 hours or so, chance-based). Then again, you can usually find a few rares when the servers come back up.

So yeah, nobody knows : /

Hmm, well if I'm up when it restarts I'll go back and check. In the meantime I've been on a rare spawn world tour determined to find something. Got to the Abyssal Depths just in time to see a Dwarf hunter celebrating his successful taming of Ghostcrawler. Not my night methinks.

Far as I'm aware, the only two rares in Northrend affected by the reboot are TLPD and Vyragosa. The others are not.

I'm sorry hun. It could be worse though! could've had what I had...TWICE he was killed while I was taming him and another time when I was trying to find a home for him.

Well I am after the TLPD so maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow, if I get up early enough.

Dude, that fucking sucks...baaaaaad. I shit you not. I'm so hella sorry for that shit bro, I really am. I spent like...forever circling around Sholazar for Loque'nahak and when I got him finally I was happy as HELL. I couldn't even begin to imagine how it'd be to see a DEAD Loque'nahak after all that. Tho, I did kill Jadefang for the minipet and TBH: I don't even know how the next person who stumbled across his corpse.

Side note: Loque isn't even an Achieve rare so wat do?

@MajorThor: Loque is an achiev rare, actually - the only Spirit Beast who is, unless he was removed :C It was probably someone leveling up who went SILVER DRAGON=LOOT AND EXP. :C

Well shit duder, I thought that all the Spirit Beasts were OFF the list.

Nope. Loque'nahak, King Krush, and Aotona are still there. Skoll, Gondria, and Arcturis never were on the list.

npc timers and server restarts are pretty funky, there are some-- actually moreso ones with a long timer like Arcturis (i self confirmed his timer pre-cata after a restart) and i managed to get Olm's spawn timer and approx. hour he likes to spawn the most (with help from petopians) but like, I think if they spawn before the servers come back up then they despawn and the timer begins again. My guess though, without the exact knowledge its all just speculation based on theories and experience. Good luck on Loque! That kinda explains it then. I checked back on him, and the TLPD, when I got up but no sign of either, but I shall keep looking.

On a happier note, I'm only 4 dailies away from a Drake of the West Winds, so at least I'll get a cool looking dragon today

May not be Loque but I got a nice surprise while patrolling for the TLPD

I know you probably have a real life, since you mentioned work, but your best shot is probably camping a couple hours at stupid o'clock, like 2-6 am about? Just a thought if the bad luck continues, but either way, I do hope you find him ALIVE next!

I generally do a /who search before I start killing any rares if they are tameable. Some people don't have that generosity though I guess and just flat out want the cheevo. Then again, you are Alliance and as far as I know, when you do a /who Hunter search, you only get your side, not the other so a Horde could have killed him not knowing any Alliance where around? Regardless, hopefully you will luck out next time. :3
