WoW Petopia Community

I frequent dA a lot, and I noticed that Petopia doesn't have a group! In fact, hunters themselves didn't have a group!
Now, I've got a hunter group getting started, it's just waiting on approval. It'll be called WarcraftHunters, and anyone who wants to join is welcome to. But I'd like to see if there'd be interest in me starting a Petopia group, which I would as soon as the other goes through, so long as there are people who'd like to join.

Artists of Petopia, what do you think?

I'm almost completely certain there was a topic about this a whiiiiiiiiiiiile ago.. But I'm too lazy to go find it and I can't even remember if the person who thought of it went through with the idea. There.. Was quite a bit of heated discussion in that thread, if I remember correctly.

But anyway! I very much approve of the idea! Though, to put my input on the matter... It shouldn't be a Hunter only group. Yes, I said it. But there's a lot more than just Hunter stuff on the forums. So.. While the main focus of the group would obviously be pets and Hunters, there should be folders in the gallery for others things such as RP pictures (Both WoW AND Pokemon <3), things related to things in Off-Topic chat, mounts, mini-pets, WoW general.. Yadda yadda yadda. While the forums are about Hunters, there's much more stuff we Petopians are interested in! Like a certain group of video games (=P) and roleplaying! (Whether it be WoW or other things!), so I think it's a fair argument to say that a dA group should welcome those other things! But, hey, that's just my opinion! (Though I'm fairly sure a few friends of mine would agree with me on this.. XD)

I would be more than willing to discuss folders for other things!

I'll definitely be creating this, though. Well, as soon as the other one gets approved. It seems to take quite a while. /:

*Grins* And I'll definitely be joining! A little while ago, I was actually wondering whether after that thread while ago, a group was actually created.. I don't think it was, actually, which is kinda sad. But oh well! The idea's come up again, so no matter!

This is gonna be exciting! I just wish dA would hurry up and approve the hunters one. /: I hate waiting for it to get going.

The other thread was so heated because furries insisted that they should get to post their stuff in it.

As long as the group stays clean of that stuff I'll join too! Fun!

Lupis and Azu both recently stalked discovered me on DA, which stopped my several-yearlong stretch of not stalking watching folks through DA notes and things but manually going to their pages (though I still do that for a bunch of people. I dunno what it is, I just feel awkward about watching without commenting, and I can never think of something to say in comments that doesn't sound inane. Favouriting without commenting seems okay though, what can I say?).

I know a lot of people here have DA accounts in their signatures (or website links) but there's so many people here it's kind of daunting to try and go through and find everybody, and I'm one of those people that can't take baby steps because the end goal is so far away that I just flat-out panic and don't do anything haha So from a purely selfish perspective, a group would be one thing to watch instead of (up to) 3,786 folks. Hooray me!

'course on the other side, I'm only watching one other group atm, and I haven't got a clue how you submit things to groups (and I know you don't just automatically submit everything because then my fantasy webcomic would be going to a TF2 group and that'd be awkward on several levels) so I'd have to actually look into that. But, y'know, baby steps. That someone else is taking. Because I'm lazy and panicky and socially awkward. Yeah.

I have a wow hunter pet/mini pet/mount group already on dA I have advertised it here multiple times when it was new (about a year old now) plus it's in my sig. I know some petopians are in the guild and it's a theme dedicated to hunter pets as well as mini pets and mounts, things we all appreciate and love here.

We always welcome new members & submissions as well as I would love some mods/etc who would help with contests etc.

So I guess, at the very least we can be affiliates.

If you have a folder to put all the furrie art in I'll be happy to join. But I don't really want to have my art seen in the same folder. When I mean that I mean stuff like humanoid hunter pets etc not worgen or any other WoW races.

Actually, I don't think it should be in the same group at all. There are other groups for furries to post their stuff in.

What's wrong with humanoid hunter pets? I mean if it's in a family oriented group I understand not having extremely sexualized things on any nature, but just anthro'd hunter pets (not sexual) I don't see an issue with. Unless you guys are just talking about sexualized things, then I understand. But either way if sexual/suggestive stuff is allowed (say in one specific folder) then I don't think there should be restrictions of content (excluding porn, etc etc I mean). I'm not a supporter of sexual furries I'm just a supporter of equal artistic rights I mean to say, either restrict all sexual things or allow them understand what I mean, instead of picking and choosing. I'm not good at convaying my thoughts :p

I get your point just fine. There are plenty of other groups for furry and anthro stuff. I don't want to be associated with that stuff, it's as simple as that.

The Petopia group has been made and is awaiting approval.
I would also like to point out that there are plenty of outher groups for things not Petopia related and that you are all welcome to join as many as you wish. But I would like this group to be Warcraft-only.

You are welcome to submit art of your hunters and your pets, but please keep it to that.

I apologize for the confusion, I was talking about this late at night, while I am sick, and I don't think I was really understanding. You are all welcome to join and talk about whatever you would like while in the group, but please keep all submissions Warcraft related.

But here's the thing.. It's a PETOPIAN group, not just any old Hunter group. If you want a WoW-only group, stick with the Hunter one. The Petopia forums have a LOT more than just World of Warcraft stuff, as I mentioned before. The majority of the roleplay here hasn't even BEEN WoW. Like I said before.. While it is a WoW focused community, there's enough interest in other things to warrant others things in the group. It's not a WoW group, it's a group for a community of WoW-players that has a LOT of other things going on besides WoW.

i agree that a petopia group on DA should only contain the hunters and their pets in their pet form, cause well..thats how they are in WoW. One could allow anthros but they would for sure be in a folder for themselves.
