As I'm sure I've mentioned before, I've been seeking Green Madexx on my alt hunter, Tezzra. I was also happy to tame red and bronze while I camped green, but wouldn't go out of my way to get them once green was mine. I have blue on my main and unfortunately though I've seen billions of blacks and tamed one on each hunter, neither clicked.

Recently Tezz's Madexx sighting count has been about 10 blacks (which have been tamed, rehomed or left to wander the desert) and 2 blues (one of which I found half dead, the other I happily rehomed just a few days ago to a hunter who actually seemed to know who Madexx was, I was so happy haha). I'm not too bothered about the lack of sightings really as I'm very casually logging over perhaps once or twice a day, doing a few laps and logging off again.

So this evening I was pleasantly surprised. I logged over and did a lap - no luck - so I decided to settle north of that quest hub area as I figure it's the most popularly traversed place of the desert and I'd be most likely to miss a spawn. NPCscan is cached so I'm monotonously prodding my /tar macro and who should it target but a handsome scorpid? I hastily shoot him to tag and search frantically for tame beast... as in my excitement I couldn't find it, I stole the trick someone mentioned on this forum and just typed /cast tame beast. xD That worked a charm!



I wasn't sure how I would feel about the bronze, but I adore him. In taming him I got the same high I'd get for any rare spawn camp. His colour startled me, too! The Petopia images, in my eyes, show the bronze as a rather murky brown. In game he's actually a really stunning honey-gold.

I'm surprised at how different this guy and Ruchy are in personality. Ruchy (my main hunter's blue) is incredibly outgoing, friendly, in-your-face and a bit self-centred (okay, very self-centred) and has turned many a big hater into a besotted fan. This fellow, however, is very very quiet and observant.

Anyhow, that's today's story! It was a lovely break from dull/depressing/boring days.

I think the WoW Hunter Gods smiled upon me for accepting bronze Madexx into Tezz's clan of pets. This evening I was very bored and bf was doing something else so I got a bunch of guildies together (on my main) and we went off to tackle some old WotLK stuff. We ended up 4 manning 25Sapph for the key, 5-7 manning (forget) 10OS3, and I think 8 or 9 manning 25Maly. It was great fun. We were all very tired so called it after that, and I popped on to Tezz to take a second look at my new Madexx. As it was about 2am server time I thought I might as well check to see if Jadefang was up... to Deepholm I go. I get to the cave and track beasts tells me that the only spiders up there are the three pink ones - but then guess whose dot pops up before my very eyes? A quick spec change later and Jadefang (1 of the 4 pets I always wanted Tezz to get) is home. At this time I was like LOL maybe all these rare spawns are up. I trot off to TWH. I hate TWH with a passion. It (along with other heavily phased areas, like Storm Peaks) murders my framerate, so I really dislike spending additional time there x_x I do a sweep around trying to ignore the lag, and have no luck on either Sambas or Karoma. The lag is finally getting to me and my hearth is on CD so I decide I'll head back to the portal and log off at Uldum again. I'm spamming my macro out of habit... and it targets Karoma. I was like O.O hahah. I never get random fly by pets like this lol. I completely lag out but spam arcane shot and tame beast and hope it works, but thankfully my game caught up and I got to watch the timer tick down. 8D

/end ramble. Hopefully I'll be honoured with the presence of green Madexx tomorrow to complete Tezz's collection! Haha. She doesn't mind if she gets Sambas and Terrorpene really, both of those would be "oh look there it is" sort of tames if she does.

But yeah, what a nice day after weeks of nothing on Tezz. Three tames in one. I should go get a lottery ticket.

I finally got my green~ Very happy. Logged on and NPCscan went nuts (typically green was the only one not cached so I knew it was the real deal). I'm so happy, I absolutely adore the colour... I don't want to remove the little "Madexx" icon from my screen rofl.

Countless blacks, a couple of blues, a single red and a single bronze Tezz couldn't be happier with her bronze and green... if red shows in the future she'll grab it but no need to camp now teehee.

Lol TFH, he is! You certainly don't have much trouble finding him once your scan goes off/you see the dot lol.

Brown definitely has charm! I remember bumbling into Caramel, waving her pincers in the air as she wandered across the sands. I had to tame her. HAD TO. Congratulations and good luck to those seeking this scorpid. Thanks to Madexx, my winter break is a blur of soda, uldum and NPCscan noises.

Just grabbed Green myself to replace the brown and am extremely happy at the luck. I've only see him in the wild three times myself. Twice as brown and snagged him as such on my two capped hunters and just now again on Vargr in green. I'd love to see the blue and snag him.


To others camping him I'd suggest just logging in and out in the middle of his spawn site. Sounds lame and like it won't happen doing that but I can't count the number of times that has worked for me on all the LK/Cata rares. Throw in a few laps if bored while waiting for grps and it will happen in time.
