So upon logging into the PTR for the first time since 4.2 hit them, I immediately noticed that I had no bag space due to a number of keys suddenly finding their way into my inventory from my no-longer-existent keyring. That'll be annoying to clean up when the patch hits, but in the long run...yay, I guess?

Thats slightly irritating.....so what do we not need keys to get into stuff now?

Did you not need them anymore? Or are they back to taking up spots?

I effing hope not. I have 4-5 spots tops free at all times, mainly due to arch/seasonal items. I am ALSO a blacksmith, whose keyring is 100% max full. That is, I think, 32 bagslots I'd have to free up. No ty?

My guess/assumption is that we won't be needing them anymore, but I wasn't sure if I missed a patch note on this somewhere....or if this is just a bug and all the keys in the ring should have disappeared with it.

So no one's heard anything on this? Very weird.

I really hope this is just a PTR bug because don't a lot of quests require you to at least get temporary keys to free prisoners, help someone escape, etc. So I can't imagine there'd be no keys at all. But like some I already have no free bag space thanks to all the stuff I collect and I have (jangles keychain) a lot of keys, so that would really hurt.

This is bullshit. My main has more or less every key ever, and most of my alts have several as well. Not only that, but I SERIOUSLY dislike all the dumbing down. -.-

But, I heard something about there coming a tabard-bag, much like the keychain, for our tabards.. It was a while back, and I don't know if I read any blues about it.. I really want a bag for my tabards, as they take up way too much space.

and yes, I believe this is a bug. Since they added the adventurers journal it seems crowded down there.

im gonna say its a bug till its announced or discovered that heroic TBC dungeons dont require a key anymore cause that alone if you have all the keys will take up serious bag space and then of course all the keys we aquire that are permanent like the vykrul harpook key (lol harpoon surfing, i may not like alliance as much as horde but some of their quests keep bringing me back for more ). For the temporary keys, theres ones that never see the keyring so while im happy the ones that do end up in the keyring continue to do so, i wouldnt be too irritated to find them popping into the bags

Could this possibly be a precursor to a Keyring system similar to our current companion/mount windows? Maybe they are trying to design something similar (As I assume the tabard bag will be like too) to this system, and in the coding accidentally took away the keyring before the other bag was implemented.

All right, so this is possibly a bug and I'll toss a note to Noah in the subject line to get this reported officially, just in case.

i had the key master achievement, which they took away and did not make a FOS. i have very very little bag space on my main, because i have multiple sets of cool armor that i like, and vanity items, seasonal toys, etc...i just DO NOT have room for all these keys? not to mention that i am smack dab in the middle of a very long and excrutiatingly hard achievement involving the farming and using of around 4000 ethereum prison keys that i am now nervous about being able to finish. WHAT A STUPID IDEA.

I don't think Etherium Prison Keys would be removed...seems like something they'd move to 'quest item' status.

Myself, it's causing something of a nostalgia trip. I REMEMBER WHEN KEYRINGS WERE NEW AND EXCITING. owo

The removal of the ring is bad enough, but making it so that we still need the keys sucks. If they take away the ring then they should remove the need for the keys for TBC heroics, Maly, Kara, Algalon, Violet Eye and any others I am forgetting.

Uggghhh, this is such a horrid idea. I quite literally will NOT have the bagspace for my keys...what the hell am I supposed to do? If they really want to use that tiny UI real estate of where the key button is, then they could just throw the keys into a window like our Mounts/Companions. (along with Tabards please)
