(NOTE--This isn't the thread to make suggestions about which Mascot you want--that thread is linked below This thread is asking what people (and Mania) think of having a Mascot Campaign!)

So, Mania posted that Petopia needs a new mascot. I'm sure she probably has some possibilities in mind, or maybe even has her mind made up--but I had a thought while reading the forum and I thought of something that might be fun.

In order to prevent it being lost in the depths of that thread, I'll post it alone. What would Mania & the rest of Petopia think of doing fake political campaigns for possible Petopia mascots?

People could do Youtube campaign vids, sigs, tags, and use them elsewhere--not just on these forums--linking back to Petopia. I'm sure quite a few new people would find their way to the site out of sheer curiosity regarding the sigs/tags & vids. It could generate quite a lot of interest for the site, and be something fun for the forum regs to do! Even if Mania's already picked a mascot, if we had a month or two of time before it's announced, we could still have a lot of fun with this I think!

So to summarize, people would have a reason to make some extra artwork, change their sigs/avatars up a bit, post joke campaign comments in the threads they're replying to, and direct new people to Petopia by using their campaign sigs/avatars elsewhere. I see it as a nice, lighthearted way to have fun! We could have a poll at the end, too, IF Mania hasn't already picked a mascot. Mainly, I'm wondering when the mascot is going to be announced, to know if we have time for this!

Anyway, just a thought, throwing it out there!

You should mention it in the other thread, over here--that's the place to suggest your choice In this thread I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested in the whole "campaign for your choice" idea for fun!

I want to do a Gezzarak campaign promo vid, tbh. And link Petopia at the end, with some brief info--I would like to sort of make this the center for it, but first I'd like to see what Mania and everyone else thinks. Reason being, there's no point in starting a mascot campaign if the mascot's going to be announced in 2 days!

Also... just to let you know... it could be an April's Fool joke, as it was stated in the original thread. :O I sure hope not! Not at this point!

alas I still love the Ghostsaber. My favorite hunter pet from Vanilla

I had a 29 twink hunter with that pet, and I would completely dominate the BG's with him. Ahh good days it was. Before mounts in the 29 bracket, before Head-Librams were outlawed for lower level players, back when I had +22 intellect on my "Butcher" sword that allowed me to practically never run out of mana during a fight.

Good times...

I put Hawkbanes in my siggie! <3 Though I also vote for Loque'nahak(I did say that in the thread). We need a banner for him too.

Littlemouse, I like your Loquenahak one! I would be OK if Sporebat wasn't chosen if Loque took it home.

For his time and still nowadays somewhat I believe Loquenahak and King Krush were the hardest rares to come across.

I wish someone would make a flag and campaign banner for Zarakh.

Definitely so. Maybe someone can do the Sholazar Basin Trio for the mascot cause everyone usually wants them.
