So Novi needs gold. Kinda bad. Gearing up Failshrub/failbear kinda broke our bank. So I run laps around Twilight Highlands for herbs. Well, I'm a bit frustrated because the place is bloody herbless! I swoop down on one of the precious, precious Twilight Jasmines (Precioooooussssss) and AWOOOOGAH.

Karoma!? I spin around because the dang thing wasn't in front of me. In the process of spinning I hear AWOOOOOOOOKERCHOMP. That's my tail! MY TAIL! So I drop a trap, quickly /who, check my buddy list. Everyone either had it and I was ... weirdly enough, the only 85 hunter showing up in zone. Oh boy. And worse yet, I had a spot open in free pets.

I didn't see any horde hovering about either. Nuts.

I knew what I had to do. A paladin buzzed overhead. Were they just passing? Looking for a tear? Quickly, I hit tame beast.

Now I have no idea what.

But Karoma seems neat. This was mostly posted so FM peeps after him/her know the spawn timer and that yes I did try to look for you. Now I just sit here with a befuddled look, watching this darn woof. I'm /happy/, but it's a sort of 'why did you bite me so much' kind of happy.

Ironically, merely an hour later, an awesome Goblin hunter helped rehome a Terrorpene to a dwarf buddy of mine. Woohoo! He was awesome. We pointed at one another then the turtle. Turns out we each have him. But it ended happily and there's a dwarf with a lava turtle now!

Aw, congrats! On both counts.

Even if you don't end up keeping pretty wolfy, much better it goes to you and you can test run it than it's killed for a tear >(

And grats on dorf friend's turtle.

Weirdly enough, Karoma is kinda growing on me. She has an odd charm - the same odd charm that lead me to tame her. Still haven't come up with a suitable name, but I think I'll keep her. And oddly, I see Karoma as a her. No idea why.

And yeah, rehoming Terrorpene makes me happy. I thought it was hilarious the Horde hunter and I kept pointing at one another then the turtle. No YOU go ahead. Then we both had it. >>

Haha, congrats I bet the goblin was like "Why isn't she taming him?" and you were probably thinking the same thing? xD
And yeah glad you like Karoma, I've been looking for him for a while now

Karoma has always been a "her" to me. I think it's the soft "a" at the end that does it. If the name was Karomu or something it'd be more masculine imo xD

Yeah, the goblin and I were both following it and emoting frantically. It was a hoot. I ended up naming her Fortuna. Seems apt somehow.

I was kind of the same way with Karoma. At first I was like, ok, it's pretty, I'll tame it if I find it. Then a shammy friend helped me tame it, and we instantly clicked. Whisp is now tied with Loq and Sabre for Kel's favorite pet.

Hehe it's interesting you say that, because I used to know a hunter who had the GTSG and named it Fortuna too Is it a reference to something? Anyway grats on your tame! Karoma was my top target in this expac, because I've always been so jealous of hunters who had the GTSG

Thanks. And hah! Mostly a reference to the fortunate and unfortunate circumstances I found her in. I was herbing a bit because I wasn't sure I had time/focus/gold to bother with a random ZA/ZG run when CHOMP - Karoma! And yeah, I always felt sad and crushed we couldn't get it for my friend because none of us knew a willing shaman.

I honestly didn't think I'd keep Karoma or even bother taming her - pretty but I knew way too many people who sincerely and truly and deeply wanted her. Figures the third time I find her no one's there (horde OR alliance) and no one on channel responds. Didn't want her to be squished for her tear, so tames away! Fortuna is staying I think. I've had fun using her in instances and the noises and sound effects are cool.

Yeah I did the same thing when I came across Brown Madexx. It wasn't a color I was looking for but I didn't want him to be killed, so I tamed him. I figure if I ever really need that spot I'll release him and pretend he moved to a farm upstate.
